Archdeacon Will 1659A #25 Michael will of Gilbert Cannell, died 28 April 1659 intestate:   
Summary: wife Catharine Sayle is alive (remarried John Crebbin, see ArW 1666 petition Jurby, of John Crebbin), dau Margaret (an infant), brother Richard, 
sisters Ann [married, ?to xxxx Moore per 1670ArW of mother Bahie] & sister Margaret (husband Phinlo Craine), & sister Madge/Margery (husband John Kneen), 
William Naylor in 1675 received the goods of Margaret Cannell (Margaret would have been about 23 years old by then), pledges: John Gawne & Daniel/Dollin 
Cannell & Phinlo Garrett.   
NOTE, William Naylor was mentioned in a note dated 1675: he had received from Phinlo Craine custody of the legacy dau Margaret received from father Gilbert, 
William gave the legacy to Margaret in 1675.
        Michael parish register: Wm Naylor buried 16 April 1682 Episcopal will; ?married to Catharine Cottier, died 1679 EpWill.

and John was dead so his son Gilbert Cannel was entered for it with the consent of Bahie.
Self & father & mother: 1644 Liber Vastarum, Michael: John Cannell & wife Bahie Booye/Boyde had various parcels of intack lands belonging to Balyfaddin 
treen of 8d rent & 1d rent & 4d rent & 8d rent, and John was dead so his son Gilbert Cannell was entered for the parcels with the consent of his wife Bahie.

and her son Gilbert Cannell was entered for them in 1644

18d to Charles Cannell, so that Gilbert was entered for 18s 8d and Charles Cannell for 18d, reserving the rights of the grandchild of Philip Cannell, that 
is, Catharine Cannell an orphan.
Mother & etc: 1678 Liber Vastarum, Michael: Bahie [Cannell alias] Boyde/Booye sold farmland in Nerlough treen of 6d rent to Adam Booye/Boyde, and Philip 
Cannell had another 6d rent of a 12d parcel, which had erroneously been entered for Joney Cannell, but now Philip Cannell and Adam Boyde were entered, 
'the right of the said 6d falling to her [Bahy Booye] by heirship'.

Edward Nelson was entered for 9s 3d rent & Thomas Grimsey & Richard Cannell were entered for the other 9s 3d yearly rent.

sold a parcel of 3s 6d rent to Mr Edward Nelson, vicar of Michael, who was entered for the 3s 6d rent in 1686. 

Gilbt Cannell depted this life the 28th of April 1659 intestate wherof ye Cort haveinge notice hath decreed his children viz Mrgrett Cannell Ad= ministr, The next of kinred on the fatherside viz Richd Ann Mrgrett & Madge Cannell Supvisors, a legasye to ye wife upon sight of ye Invent, the said Richd Cannell, Phinloe Craine in ye behalf of his wife Mrgrett and Jo: Kneene in the behalf of his wife Madge are onely sworne and Anne to be sworne at next Cort. The wife also sworne, 10s allowed to ye wife for a legasye. Salvo Tamen vinciuge Decretum est et Solvit 2s 6d Suo jure The Inventorye of Gilbert Cannell, priced by 4 sworne men namly Donold Cannell Senior, Donold Cannell Junior, John Teare and John Cannan; as followeth, All ye Inventorie of ye said Gilbert Cannell amounts to ye some of ...........10£ : 5s. If any more can be found to be added at next Cort sub poena 20s, viz a qter of ye croppe of corne as it shall fall and the other half quarter to be due at ye death of ye grandmother of ye child to the end yt it may be found. [previous page] 29 July 1659 Mrgrett & Margery Cannell entereth their clame agst ye Adminstr: of Gilbt Canele for 9s and a mutton ----[fold] craveth ye benefit of ye Law Rich: Cannell entereth agst ye sd Administr for ha----[fold] a qrter of ground & craveth ye Law [previous page] At KK Michaell xvth(15th) May 1660 Ordered by consent of all ptyes interested that Katherin Sayle ye wife of Gilbt Cannell shall have the tuition of Margr Cannell Administr of ye sd Gilbt until she come to ye age of 14 yeares of age; and ye Supvisors of ye sd child ye custodye of ye goods; They payeinge to ye sd mother after ye rate of 12s per anno till ye sd child come to be 7 yeares old and for the other 7 yeares ye mother is to have ye full of her porcon and ye benefit therof towards her maintenance; She givinge sufficient security for ye same otherwise to Returne ye sd child to ye ovrseers who doe bind them selves to mantene ye sd child as becometh. [next page] July ye 20th 1675 Received thou by mee Willm Nayller for & in the behalfe of Margt Cannell from the hands of ffinlo Craine the full summe of fiftie shillings sterlinge & six pence beinge a quarter of the goods of ye said Margt, due to her by ye death of her father Gilbert Cannell & in the hands of him the said ffinlo & doe acquit & discharge the pledges: note yt 20s of ye said summe was paid unto the said Margt Cannell as appears by her acquittance bareinge date June 18th : 74 & the other thirtie shillings six pence was received by me Willm Nayller & ye said Margt from ye hands of Willm Naylor as witness ther hands ye day & yeere above written Before me Jon Huddlestone Regisr Willm: Nayllor: IH Willm Sayle X Margt Cannell her mark X ffeb 16th 75 Received these at & from ye hand of Sr John Huddleston for & in ye behalf of Willm Nayller the sum of 20s in ye prsence of Ricd Brew & Phillip Brew I say received Margt Cannell Received also from ye hands of Gilbt Cannell for the us of Margt Cannell the full summe of 46s in pt of payment of her fathers goods & doe acquit & discharge for ye said sume.
