Archdeacon Will 1659A #12 German will of Ellin Kaighin alias Kaighin alias Cannell, dated 3 February 1657/8:

William Cannell & Daniel Caine & Robert Kelly, pledges : William Caine & Randle/Reynold Caine.
Will of 1st husband: ArW 1653A #21 Michael will of Thomas Kaighin, died 1653: wife Ellin Cannell is alive [she remarried to (William) Kaighin, her will ArW 
1659A #12 German], dau Joney, son William, son Patrick, son Thomas, son Gilbert,  son & pledge John Kaighin, grandchildren Henry & Catharine Kaighin [father 
is John Kaighin, per 1677 Lib Vast, Michael], granddau Maige/Madge Kaighin (left a hog), grandson? William Kaighin (left a hog), witnesses: John Cannell, 
pledges: John Cannell the younger tailor & John Kaighin.
Self & son & grandson:   1677 Liber Vastarum, Michael: Ellin Cannell had farmland of 4s 8d yearly rent in Ballagraine treen, and she was dead so the right 
of it went to her grandson Henry Kaighin by birth right & by bargain of contract from his father John Kaighin; Henry now being in possession of it was 
entered for the rent in 1677.
?Stepson: 1658 defuncts German: Curia Secunda ut prdicta 19 May 1658: Defunct: ... X  Wm Caghen sonne of Wm Caighen.
?Will of stepson: ArW 1658A #018 German will of William Kaighin, orphan, died May 1658, intestate: father William Kaighin is alive, 
mother is dead & William's inventory is included in the mother's, has 2 brothers by his mother.
Will of sister in law: ArW 1665A #061 Michael will of Joney Cannell alias Callister, died 6 February 1664/5: husband John Cannell is alive, no children were 
mentioned, sister Margaret Quayle als Callister (daus Margaret & Joney, husband is deceased Paul Quayle, his will ArW 1654A #36 Michael), brother Gilbert 
Callister, Charles Cannell's eldest (Ann) & youngest daughters (?Charles is son in law of sister Margaret Quayle alias Callister), also: Alice Cry, 
witnesses: Charles Cannell & Hugh Cannell, pledges: Patrick Caine & John Cannell.
Dau Joney & her sons William & Gilbert &c: 1699 Old Michael Sales, #95: 10 October 1699: William Kaighin sold to John Cannon, son & heir of Phinlo Cannon, 
a parcel of land belonging to his mother Joney Kaighin als Kaighin, who also acknowledges the sale, & also belonging to himself & his brother Gilbert 
Kaighin, the parcel of land is known as the Turff Croft in the quarterland of Ballanay, rent 5s, bought from Phinlo Cannon, witnesses Thomas Crellin & 
William Cannon; Court December 1699.
NOTE: Ellin and her current husband [William?] Kaighin made a handfasting bargain/marriage agreement related to the marriage of her daughter (Joney Kaighin) 
and his son (Gilbert Kaighin).

German the 3th of ffebr 1657/ In ye name of God Amen. I Ellin Caighen als Cann---[edge] sicke in bodye but whole in minde and of pfect memorye doe make my last will & testament as follow eth; ffirst I comitt my Soule to God, and my ------ to Christian buriall; Itm, I leave to ye poore as my exec shall thinke fitt; Itm to my sonne Jo: Caighen a firl: barley of that is in hand, and a boule comeinge from him to my sonne in law Gilbt Caighen; Ittm I leave to my sonne Patr Caighen a lambe, and note that he is paid 20s wch is his child porcon by father and mother; soe yt I have done wth him; Itt, to my sonne Wm Caighen a lambe in legasye; Itt to my sonne Tho: Caighen a lambe as legasye; Itt to my grandchild Katherin Caighen a goose legasye; Itt to my sister in law Jony Calister a medley coate; Itt to Jony Caighen ye best of 2 coates; Itt I leave to my husband all his owne goods because I gave him none, and he to make good his promise to his sonne and my daughter touching their handfastinge bargaine; Item to my sonne Gilbt Caighen 2 yards of cloath; Lastly I constitute my sonne in law Gilbt Caighen and his wife my daughter Jony Caighen my true and lawfull execr of all the rest of my goods move able and unmoveable, 15 June 1659 The execr sworne Ellin Caighen her mrk Testes Wm Cannell } Do: Cain } iurati Robt Kelly } Probat et Solvit 10d Invent wthin 14 dayes viz in their possession by Contr------ The execr at age and have given in pledges Wm Caine and Reinold Caine to pay all debts and legasyes and secure the office sub poena 5£ sterl: ad usum domi: [TRANSCRIBERS NOTE: In the will, Ellen’s maiden name looks to me like Carrn. She is not listed on the facesheets, that is, that first page listing those who died, with or without wills, in that parish since the previous court date. Nor is her maiden name listed again in the will. She signs it with her married surname. This surname is at the right edge of the paper, and the edge is partly crumbled away. There may be one or two more letters to the surname that have been crumbled away. The typed Index lists her name only as Ellen Kaighen.]
