Nominie die amen I Donald Cowle sicke in body and 
whole in mynd & perfect memory praised be God, 
make my last will & testamt as followeth &c.     
Imprimis I committee my sould to God and my body 
to Xtian buryall &c.    
It, I leave to my eldest son my pte of the crop 
of the corne and geares belonging to the husbandry, 
and also the lands which I bought to him yt shall 
inherit the farme as heire succeeding mee in 
the tenement.   
It, I leave legasy to my second son Donald Cowle 
one sheep and lambe,   
It, I leave to my eldest daughter Isabell Cowle 6d legasy.   
It, I leave to my daughter Ellin Cowle legasie a yew lambe,   
It, I leave to my wife for legasye my pte of the choice horse    
It, I constitute & ordayne my 3 children viz: John, 
Donald and Wm Cowle my true and lawfull execrs of all 
the rest of my goods moveable and unmoveable 
whatsoever and ordayne & appoing my beloved wife 
Katherin Cowle supervisor of my children and themselves 
and goods to her tuition with all th----  else 
during there minority and if my wife refuse to stand 
to the children and goods then I appoint my two 
daughters Supervisors and to have themselves & 
goods as before.    
It, I take one my chardge yt I have pd John Kneale 
all his wives portion I promised to the utmost peny 
saving 5s yt is yet unpd him,    
lastly I leave to the poore at hallowtyde a firlt 
of corne to bee given them and to the 
witnesses 6d to bee given ----- in drinke.
