The last Will & Testament of Henry Gell who departed
this life the 23rd of May 1678 being then sick in body but of per
fect memory to our apprehensions(?).

First he committed his soule to God & his body to Christian bur
riall.  It: he left to the poor a firlet of mault, & a pack of 
meals(?).  It: he left to his Daughter Cathrine a sheep & a white [blan]
[kett] & a red petticoat wch was Due to her; It: he left his part of a 
heifer unto his Son Donald yt he might have ye whole heifer.  It: [He]
Declared that he was to give to his Daughter Margrett half of much goods in [co]
tract as she was Due unto her by ye Death of her mother, wch he ordered she
be paid by his Executor unto her, provided that she would first returne what 
goods she had taken away privately from her father unto his Executor, and 
if she would not returne such goods, he Declared that she should not have 
any Discretion in the goods but he cutt her of with 6d legacie.  It: he
left to Alice Lowny(?) three half firlets of oats to be paid out of the crop
of corne.  It: he left his part of a fishing boat & a manks pair of
........... to his Son John, & his part of a great chest as ......... to ye heir.
It: he Declared that if any did claim right or interest to his goods that
he cutt them of with 6d legacie.  It: he left  to his Executor out of [ye]
crop of corne, a firlet of oats, & a firlet of barley.  Lastly
he constituted & appointed his two sons Will: & Donald his lawfull
Executors of all the rest of his goods moveable & unmoveable.

men to wit,  Tho: Keig, Tho: Gell, Will: Quirk & Robt
Quilliam according to Law as followeth.

The Executors at age sworn in Cort and hath given
pledges according to law Tho: Gell & Tho: Keig

June 21. 1678		Wm Quirk enters against the Executors of Hen:
			Gell, for ye sume of five pounds Due of his portion and
			nameth by all.

John Cannell in behalf of his wife Margt. Gell enters against
the Executors of Hen: Gell for 3 Coople of Sheep, and for what is
Due to him by contract bargain or other ................... as will be [made to]
appeare, and nameth by all.
