November ye 3th 1668 In ye name of God Amen, I Nicolas Kewne sicke in body but of perfet memory praised be God, doe make this my last will & testament in manner & form following: First, I comitt my soule to God & my body to christian buriall. Itm. I leave to ye poore half a firlett of mault, a peck of wheate & a pecke of oaten meale. Itm. I leave to my wife halfe a cow legace. Itm I am oweing to my daughter in law Isable Cray 16s Itm. I leave to my grandchilde Robert Kewne 1s 6d in money. Itm. I leave to my other grandchild Willm Kewne 4s legacy, also I leave him a shirt & a petty & my cap. It: I leave to my vicar 1s Lastly I constitute & appoint my wel beloved sonne John Kewne my true & lawful executor of all ye rest of my worldly goods moveable & immoveable whasoever. Witnesses hereunto The exetr sworn in Court John Crellin Vicar: John Iaceene Jurati Probatid et solvit 1s Henry Waterson. The whole Inventory is but 1£ - 8s - 7d The pressers are The executr at lawfull yeares, & Willm Cubone Senr the goods in his owne Custody, & Peter Comish have given in pledges with money & Thomas Cannell with stolr John Cabeene [Extr] heresay there is a contraction bargan proved before ye dyin as ap peares this day in court wherein we finde yt Nicho Kewne hath essuted half of all his worldly goods & his wife unto ye son Joh Kewne & Ann Kegg at ye day of ye marrig & ye other half after ye death, & therforr we finde yt the legacie bequeathed in the will aforesaid is voyde & of noe effect by reason of ye forsaid con tract: Feb ye 17th 1668
