This is affirmed to be ye last will of John Joughen who was buried ye 6th of Novr 1694. First he commended his soul to God and body to Xtian burial. It, to his daughter Catherin ye fourth part of ye crop, cattle, goods, and yt to include the goods due to her by her mother’s death, ...... the husbandry gears & a chest. & left all the rest of his goods to his son Mark whom he appointed his Executor, and if the said Mark died without issue that then the bought lands should fall to his daughter Catherine. It, he declared there was due to him from John Xtian Ballafayle ye sum of thirty shillings with the interest for many years, three stoaks & .... of placket & half firlett of barley, of ..... allowed him. It, that Ewan Xtian son Cranstall owed him 12s by agreement, ...... Captn Wm Xtian 3 half firletts barley & pottle of rye for trespass, a bowle of dry corn for [land] .... It, Ewan junr a pottle of rye & 12d fees. It, yt Wid: Key was by bargain bound to give him ye [plow...] of the crop at 2s per year, and that they took other [plows], whereby he was demnified the said value ... this time .. 20 .... It, yt Dan Joughen owed him 2s of ye rent of ye Croft. It, Mark Joughin Cora--- owed him 12s for a gun. It, he acknowledged that he [secured] 20s from John Lace which he paid and satisfied as followeth, vizt., 6s for a week’s plowing, 6s for ye ... of ..... &: 20d per year for ye rent of Knockdoo for above 20 years. It, that Isab: Kneale owed him 1s for a pigg. It, that he owed Isab: Camaish 1s of her wages. It, yt widow: Isabel owed him 3s. Item, yt Will Joughin owed him 1:4d for things but in ye boat betwixt them. It., yt Ed Corlett owed him 3:4d of wages due for going to Scotland. It, Ewan C---- 2:6d upon ye like acct. It, he left to his grandchild Issa: Joughen a yearling, a yard of linen, and to ye witnesses 6d apiece. Itm, he acknowledged that he owed Catherine Quark 1s4d, for wages. John Christian Ballafail hath made oath that all that he was owed by the Executor of John Joughin is 2s 0d, which with the fees is 2s 8d, which the said Mark Joughin the Executor hath received before me, John Curghey, Regr.
