The person who created the old Typed Index mis-understood this copy to be the wills of both Thomas and Ellinor at this time, but it was actually only meant to be Ellinor's will.
This stands for Ellin KK Malew Quails will This is affirmed to be the last will & Testamt of Thomas Quail who de parted this life February 11th (97) ffirst he committed his soul to God and body to Christian buriall. Itm: he (with the consent of his wife Ellinr: bequeathed to his wifes 2daughters (vizt)Mary & Jane one heiffer which is a year at May next; Itm: to his wifes said daughter Mary a ffrying pan; Itm: to his wifes daughter Kath: Caine one sheep & a lamb; Itm: he left to the said Kath: Cains eldest son, Thomas, a lamb; Itm: to John Quaile, son of John Quail of Ballatrollog an ew-lamb; Itm he bequeathed to his own daughter Margery in Ireland six shillings in mony to be pd her when she came to receive it; and if she were not content with that then to have but six pence Legacy; Itm: he left to his wifes son Thomas Caine one steer. Itm: he bequeathed one cow, half of a cow and a steer to be divided betwixt his own daughter, and wifes daughter and son vizt one half to his own daughter Ellinr Quail, and the other half to his wifes said three children, Thomas Mary & Kath: Caine, for takeing care of his said daughter Ellinr:, who is not compos mentis. Itm: he bequeathed to his sd daughter Elinr, all his sheep, to be enjoyed by her after hermothers death and desired that Wm Shimmin and the foresaid Thomas Caine should take care of them in her behalf. Itm: he left to his said daughter Ellinor a chist with all the linnen and woollen which is in it, (except one red petty coat which his wifes daughter is to have, giveing her any other pettycoat for it) to be given her according as she has occasion for them by her sisters or any other pson who shall take care of her. Itm: he left to his wifes eldest daughter Ellinor Caine all his horses & mairs, except one colt which he left to any person that would undertake to goe wth his daughter for Ireland to any well whereby she might receive some cure; Itm: he left to his said daughter Ellinor half a pewdar candlestick with a pewder dish & half of a ffether bed after her mothers death, and all the wooden vessells belonging to the house.
