This is affirmed to be ye last Will & Testament of Marg’t Christian
alias Lewn who departed this life ye 4th of this [Inft?] Aug’t. being in per
fect mind & memory at ye making thereof.  First shee comitted her
Soul to God & her body to Xtian burial.  Shee left to old Rob’t Lewn
                          half
of Douglas twenty shill: 3 ^ firlotts of moult, near half a firlot of wheat
half a stone of wool & a mutton.  To ye sd Rob’ts daughter Marg’t half 
a stone of wool:  And to each of her other two sisters a quart of wool.
To Rob’t Lewn jun’r of Douglas five shill:  Shee left to her half sister Jo’n
Cannan’s wife five & twenty shills: a quart of wool & one of her wearing
petticoates.  Shee left to her other half sister Jo’n Gell’s wife five and twenty 
shill: a quart of wool & one of her wearing petticoates, & if they would
             […..]
not be content ^ shee cut them of (vis. ye two half sisters) with sixpence
apiece.  Shee left to W’m Curlot of Douglas half a stone of wool & for:

:gave him whatever he was indebted to her.  Shee left to ^ niece Marg’t.

Lewn ^ [worfted?] which she had in ye house for a riding hood, & a pair of 
Silver clasps.  Shee also ordered [that] her husband Philip Xtian should have a
waistcoat of ye sd [worfhed?] when it was made into stuff[?].   Shee also left to ye
sd Marg’t Lewn a blue petticoat.  Shee left to her Nephew Rob’t Lewn a
brown heifer. Shee left to her Neice Ann Lewn a couple of her wearing
[quories?]. Shee left to her God daughter Marg’t Lewn Ball Creetch six sheep & six lambs.
To Rob’t Lewn Son of Tho: Lewn one of ye colts.  Shee left to ye sd Tho: Lewn’s
youngest child a sheep & a lamb.  Shee left to Marg’t Fargher four sheep,

four lambs, two goats, five yeards of grey [searge?], a blanket, ^ a [Can..ss?]; with
a [dollan scone?] pot, [peck & wheole?] belonging to ye sd Marg’t Fargher by the
death of her mother.  Shee also forgave ye sd Marg’t ye fine of her land which
shee paid upon her acct. & also [the?] charge of rebuilding her barn.  Shee left
to her helf brother Tho: Cannell a blanket.  To Ann Blackburn alias
Lewn ten shill:  Shee declared [that] Marg’t Corkill owed her some money
whereof shee left her half a crown, & another half crown of ye sd debt to
Jony Corkill.  Shee forgave Phinlo Corkill three shill: which he owed her.
Shee left to Richard Lewn a blanket.  Shee left to her God son Jo’n Lewn of
Ballargey two lambs.  Shee left to her God daughter at Cleps two sheep.

& a yeard to Marg’t Karrol.  Lastly shee constituted & appointed her hu[sband]
Philip Christian, her brother & sister Stephen & Alice Lewn, & her nep[hew]
Tho: Lewn joyhnt & lawfull Execut’rs. Of all ye rest of her Goods, move[able]
& unmoveable whatsoever, provided shee died within a year & a day from [the]
day of her marriage with her sd husband; but if it pleased God [that] she [did]
live with him a year & a day she excluded him from having any part [of]
ye Executorship & left him sd riding Mare in Legacy; and left ye other three
Stephen, Alice & Tho: Lewn joynt & lawfull Execut’rs.  She left [the]
Minister a choice mutton.  She left to ye poor three or four shill’s, either
money or meal.
