                 Douglas 1716

The Will of John Christian of Douglas, made and
Declar’d before the witnesses hereof this 12th of June
1716 as followeth.

[Imprimis?] he Commended his Soul [& c.]
Itm  to his [dr?] Jane the ………………….. with
half the Backyard and half [a qr?] of the Great Garden at the
….. with the bed he layd on and the bedcloathes
Itm to daughter Jony the whole Brewhouse and half the yard
and another half Quarter of the sd Garden with Jane [vizt] her
Elder Sister, with this proviso that if his Son John do not
come, that then the sd Jane and Jony is to have by this Will
the one half of the Garden Equally betwixt them.
Itm [to?] Son Thomas the half of the Great House, the whole
of the Smithy with all the [Iverling?] toolls. and the other half
of the [Grace house ?] if John doth [late?] come. 
Itm to his 2 daughters Mary and Isabell 16[?] Equally betwixt
them to be pad by his Ex’r the Mothers Goods included.
All the rest of his Goods movable and immovable of which
Nature soever he left to his said son Thomas whom he
                               after expected [allowing?] 
Constituted his Exec’r and charged him ^ to be Kind to his
children under age, and to take care of them and their [Gov..?]
till they come to age. [rest of line crossed out]

ter Jony a feather bed that was in her Grandfathers custody after …

to this will of my father’s in Every particular

in penalty of fourty pounds according to Law.
