Articles of marriage Condescended unto and agreed upon and between Michell
Kewley of KK Lon, with he [..?..] of his wife Ann Kewley als Clage in the
behalf of their son Jon Kewley one the one party and wi[th .....]
Skillicorne als Quilleash of the said parish [.....] Behalfe of her
Daughter Margtt Skillicorne one the other party as followth
First it is agreed upon that ye sd youg Copple John Kewley and Margrett
Skillicorne shall Enter Into ye holy Estate of matrimoney with in a fu[...]
month after the date hereof God and the Church allowing the Same
Secondly it is agreed upon yt the sd Michell Kewley withe the Consent of
his wife Anne Kewley als Clague doth hereby give and settell upon their sd
son and intended Daughter in Law: John Kewley and Margrett Skillicorne
Halfe his Lands Houses Crop of Corne, Teame, Husbandry gears, and halfe of
all Household goods with a mare and fole, I[...]iately after their
marriage, reserving to the[.. .....] their natural lifes; and after the
decase of Either Ye sd Michall or Ann the moity of what is here [.....] to
fall due to the sd younge Couple John Kewley and Margrett Skillicorne, and
the whole after Decease of them both
Thirdly it is agreed upon that ye Sd Widdow Skillicorn Mother to the sd
Margrett Skillicorne doth give in Contract with her sd Daughter to Ye Sd
John Kewley a full and just Sum of four pound Lawful money to be truly payd
unto the sd young Cople within the Space of two Years after their marriage
including in this portion whatsoever is Due to her by her fathers Death
Fourthly it is agreed upon that the sd Young Copple, John Kewley and
Margrett Skillicorne doe hereby bind themselfes to provide for the
maintainance of ye sd Michaell Kewley and Anne his wife; if by old age or
other wise they may be reduced to such a Condition that their necessity
Shall require it; provided they ye Sd Michell and Anne deliver and give up
ye above Resarved halfe of the Lands unto ye Sd Young Copple — having no
Incombrance upon it Either by mortgage or otherwise
And for the Performance of all and Singular the within and above mentioned
Articles and Conditions all thos concerned doo bind them selves other to
the other in the Penalty and forforture of Eight pounds according to the
Laws of the Isle as Witness our hands and marks this 29th of May 1713

Deed, likewise the [.....] have deposed the same to be the Mutua[...] of
the other Subscribing Parties. This before me [.....]

The within Articles of Marriage being acknowledged before the Deemster and
Now published in open Court and noe Objection made agt it therefore the
same are allowed of and Confirmed According to Law
