This is affirmed to be the last Will & Testament
of John Lawson, who departed this life about ye
25th Octr 1723 and was in perfect mind & memory
at the making thereof.
     First. He committed his soul to God, and his
body to Christian Burial.  Item, he left to
his eldest son James Lawson the crop of corn House and Lands
after the death of his wife; and she consented
that her part or half of the said House and
Lands shud be left to the sd eldest son after
her decease.   Item. He ordered and appointed
his eldest son James Lawson aforesd, to pay
three pounds ten shillings to his Grandmother
which was in morgage in the said Land, belonging
to her.    Item. He left to his second son
John Lawson thirty shillings, that was in morgage in
Boley Martin.    Item. He appointed & ordered his
eldest son aforefaid, to pay ten shillings to his
son Richard Lawson and of the Knockanyn and
left the sd Richard a cow.    Item. He left his
part of the Boat to the child that was on his
wife's bearing.   He declared that John Corkil
owed him five qroats. X John pd Kneal (Flaman) ten shillings.  
 Lastly, he appointed and constituted his
loving wife sole & lawful Execrx of all the rest
of his goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever.

       sors:

[The] Exortx pd ye above ten shillings debt to John
[Kneal] thereupon the cross .... ye. will.

           June 3 1725
           Richd. Lawson, David Lawson & Bahy Lawson & Dan Kaneen have
twenty   } agreed to give John Lawson's wife 20s whereupon she has
shillings} obliged herself to maintain ye part of the Children that come
           on their share during yeir minority. And if the children
           shall die under age, their goods are to return to their
           mother Catherine Lawson als Tear, who hath given
           pledges for the goods, John Martin & Wm. Tear
           In testimony whereof the partys have oblig'd themfelves
           in ye penalty of double ye value according to law.
