Braddan
Whereas I Jony Creer als Clague late of Renscalt in
the parish of KK Braddan being in an old and feeble condition
and having no relation in whom I may confide to look to, help
& maintayne me during my naturall life in my old & declining
condition, saving my son John Lewns of Douglas who has been
always very kind & dutifull to me, and in regard that the sd John
Lewne is to look to, keep & maintayne me during my natural
life with all necessaries as also out of the naturall love &
affection which I have and do beare to my sd son Have Given
Granted, confirmed & Gifted and by these presents do Give Grant
Confirme & make a free perfect & absolute Deed of Gift unto the
said John Lewne of all & singular my Goods Chattells, personal
Estate whatsoever Utensills, Household stuff, Implements and
all my Cloathes & other my Effects of what kind, nature, prope??
or degree soever the same be or can be within this Isle (excepting
one cow or Twenty Shillings which I do hereby reserve after
my death to be given or paid to my son Robt Lewne & 
Averick Cassin als Lewne my daughter equally betwixt them
in full of their Childs part of Goods).  To Have hold, levy?
recover, take & forever enjoy all and every the premises
afforesaid unto the said John Lewne his Execrs. Admrs & Assigns
from henceforth forever without any manner of Claime, Challenge
or demand whatsoever, or by any person or persons whatsoever
(except before excepted) And I the sd Jony Creer als Clague
do hereby Covenant & Agree with my sd son Jo Lewne to give
him my Right & Interest to the Tenemt of Renscalt dureing my
natural Life And I the said Jony Creer als Clague all & every
the said Goods Chattells, Mony, Implements and all other the
premisies unto the said John Lewne his Execrs. Admrs. & Assignes
against all peoples shall and will Warrant and forever defend
by these presents: of all and every which said Goods Chattells
Household Stuff and other the premisses, I the said Jony
Creer als Clague have put the said John Lewne in possession of the
premisses by the Gift & delivery of one English Shilling, which
to the said John Lewne the day & date of these presents, I have
given & delivered in the name of possession & ?eisin of all & singular
the sd premisses, And for performance hereof I the sd Jony
Creer als Clague do bind myself heirs Execrs. Admrs & Assignes
in penalty & Forfeiture of Twenty pounds Sterling to be
levied according to Lawe one half to our Iton?bls Lord and
the other half to the sd Jo Lewne or Assignes Witness –
my hand this 27th December 1720.

is sworn in form of Law &
gave Pledges, Tho: Creer, &
Robt. Lewn.
