43, Peeltown
The last will and testament of Jon: Dawson of Peeltown who departed this life 
the 11th of March 1723/, being of perfect mind and memory at the making thereof 
as followeth.   
First, He committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial.   
Itm, He left and settled upon his son Wm: Dawson all his houses lands and 
husbandry geers belonging to ye working of ye land to which his wife consented.   
Itm: He left to Patrick Lace his grandson either two sheep or two yearlings.  
To the witnesses of the will two yearlings one to each.   
Lastly He nominated constituted and appointed his three children Charles, 
Catharine, and Isabel Dawson whole and joint Executrs: of all the rest of 
his goods moveable and unmoveable.  
The wife’s consent is witnessed by her subscription hereunto, May 7th 1724.

 Jon: Christian his mrk X, jurati.               

Isabel one of ye Execrs: being out of ye Island, ye other two viz: Charles & 
Catherine are sworn in Court in form of Law.  
Probatum est & Solvit 1s.   Wm: Christian & Jon: Callister are pledges.
