Articles of Marriage agreed & contracted
to by and between Gilbert Creer of
Castletown Laborer & Elizabeth his wife
of this one part and Robt Faile of Balla-
doole Laborer on ye other part the 8th day 
of October 1722

First. That whereas a Marryage is to be 
consummated betwixt ye above Robt
Ffaile and Ann Creer ye daughter of
ye Sd Gilbert & Elizabeth Creer, God &
our Holy Church permitting, the said
Gilbert & Elizabeth his wife does hereby
give as a marriage Dowry to Ann their
said daughter the one half of their houses
and gardens cattle household stuff & plow
Materialls Benefitt of halfe any land taken
in Lease and does hereby assign and make
over ye same to them for ever & the land
during ye times he has ye benefit of it the
said Robt & Ann his wife paying halfe ye
rent and all dues customs out of halfe
the same.
Secondly. The said Gilbert Creer and Elizabeth his
wife does make them sole heirs of their
houses goods and what ever else he 
or she shall do possess of and the same
at their decease to go to the said Faile 
and Ann his wife and their Heirs for
ever.
Thirdly. The said Robert Faile doth covenant
and promise to and with the said Gilbert
Creer & Elizabeth his wife to give unto ye
said Gilbert and Elizabeth his wife, one
half of all his moneys & goods that he is
possessed with at ye day of marriage to
which Articles all partys have agreed to &
for their mutual performance have
bound themselves Each to other in ye sum
of twenty pounds in ye nature of all
final the day & year first above written.

Elizabeth Creer came and hath acknowledged
the within and above Articles of Marriage
as far as relates to be her act and
deed and John Kewley & John Cater two
of the subscribing witnesses have made
oath that the same was duly executed by
Gilbert Creer deceased in their presence
and this before me   Chas Moore
at Castletown Feb 7th 1725
This marriage contract is accepted
for the last will of Gilbert Creer,
and her daughter Ann Faile als Creer
is sworn in court in form of law.
