101    Malew
The last will of William Quaile of Kerrow 
moar, made the 12th of January. First, he 
committed his soul to God, and body to 
Christian burial. 
Item, he bequeathed to his son John Quayle 
30 shillings, and to the said John’s son 
John 30 shillings, there being 10 shillings 
in his said son’s hands; and 30 shillings 
in the hands of his son Patrick Quaile. 
Lastly, he constituted his son Thomas Quaile 
Executor of all the rest of his goods 
whatsoever. 
Witnesses: 
J. Woods, 
John Quaile of Kerrowkeil. 

The Executor sworn in Court, and gave 
pledges John Quaile and John Bridson. 

At a Consistory Court at Balnahown, 
July 9, 1741, 
William Quayle of Kerroo moar having bequeathed 
thirty shillings legacy to his grandson John 
Quayle declaring that the same was in the hands 
of his son Patrick Quayle. And whereas the said 
Patrick acknowledges that the thirty shillings 
aforesaid was in his custody, and that he cannot 
satisfy the Court that he has discharged the same; 
ordered that he does forthwith pay that value to 
John Quayle the Legatee, otherwise he is to be 
committed till he submits and pays all fees. 

To the Sumner of KK Malew, who if disobeyed is 
to desire a soldier.

At BallaVaghyr, April 8, 1742, 
Upon a xxxxring of the within order, we reinforce 
the same and order Patrick Quayle to submit 
thereunto under penalty of commitment till 
he pays the debt with all fees
