72    Bride
In the name of God, amen. I Robert Parr Rector of KK Bride, 
being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and 
memory thanks be to God for the same, calling unto mind the 
mortality of my body &c., do make and ordain this my last 
will and testament in manner and form following. First, I 
give and recommend my soul into the hands of God my Creator, 
that gave it, and my body to Christian burial nothing denoting 
but that at general resurrection I shall receive the same 
again by the might power of God. And as touching such worldly 
estates and goods wherewith it pleased God to bless me in 
this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the 
following manner and form. 
I leave, will and bequeath two bowls of barley to be 
distributed among the poor of my parish. 
Item, I leave and bequeath to my children vix., John, Robert, 
Thomas, Humphrey, James, Jane, and Dorothy Parr a guinea 
legacy to each of them. 
Item, I leave the care and tuition of my children to my 
dear and loving wife, and do nominate constitute and appoint 
my loving brother The Revd Mr John Humphrey to be guardian 
and overseer to my said children. 
Lastly, I do nominate, constitute and appoint my most dear 
and loving wife Mrs. Dorothy Parr als Humphrey to be my 
only and sole Executrix of all the rest of my goods and 
effect moveable and immoveable whatsoever allowing and 
authorizing her to sell and dispose of my houses and garden, 
&c., in KK Bride to her best advantage. And after death of 
my said wife all what then remains of the goods and effects 
belonging to us in Island, are to fall and descend entirely 
unto our aforesaid children. I do hereby revoke and make 
void all former and other will and wills heretofore made 
by me. And in testimony that this is my last will and testament 
I have hereunto put my name and seal this fifth day of 
February 1728/9.

The Executrix sworn in form of Law, & gave pledges the 
Revd. Mr. Edward Moore and Mr. John Bignal. 

Mr. Edward Moore and Ewan Moore two of the witnesses 
declare that the Testatrix some time after the signing 
of this will ordered one of the bowls of barley left 
to the poor to be distributed among the poor of KK Arbory. 

March the 13th, 1729
Joney Clague enters a claim against the Executrix of 
the Reverend Mr. Robert Parr for the sum of thirty 
shillings and craves the Law.

September 7th, 1730
then received from my dear mother Mrs. Dorothy Parr one 
guinea, being a legacy left to me by my father the Revd. 
Mr. Robert Parr late Rector of KK Bride, for which this 
is a sufficient discharge.

The funeral charges for James Parr son to the Revnd Mr 
Robert Parr deceased: 
for the coffin, 3 shillings 6 pence; 
handles for the coffin 3 shillings 6 pence; 
two yards of black cloth 2 shillings 8 pence; 
two yards of linen cloth 2 shillings 4 pence; 
wine and brandy 5 shillings 8 pence; 
ale 3 shillings; 
victuals or meat 4 shillings; 
bread 1 shilling, 
candles 5 shillings; 
total in all 1 pound 5 shillings 5 pence.
