COSTEAN, William 1729-1 Arb A 29 0106214 29 KK Arbory The last will of William Costean of Ballakilpatrick who departed this life the 9 day of February in 1728 being in good and perfect mind and memory at making of the same, he first commited his soul to God and his body to Christen burial. Impr: He left to his son John Costean whatsoever was due to him by the death of his mother and six pence legacy. Itm, He left to his loving wife Catherin Costean als Waterson his part of Geels land[?] Itm and whatsoever flax and wool and yearn and linin cloath and woolen cloath was in the house he left his part of them for to cloath his four children and all the money that was in the house and all the Remainder of the corn after sewing for meat for them likewise and desired that none of them should be praised and likewise all the Remander of the crop in the ground after his son John has his part of it he left to his above said four children namely Margret, Jane, Willm, and Henery Costean and not to be praised and one of the witnesses declares he left his loving wife equal with his children in his goods, and lastly He apointed his four children Margret, Jane Willm and Henery Costean Extors of all the rest of his good as well moveable and immoveable whatsoever. [The following is crossed out:] Dan: Waterson, one of ye witnesses has sworn to ye truth of ye within will, save yt he does not remember, ye wife was left joint wth ye children. Both ye witnesses have sworn to ye truth of ye within Will, save that Dan: Waterson does not remember, ye wife was left joint wth ye children. Therefore, there being no provision made for ye children above mentioned, they are decreed joint Admrs. The children & their goods in ye tuition of their mother, who hath given pledges Wm Shimmin & Wm Corrin; and John Costean the former wifes son has given up his right to all ye goods to his stepmother, if ye children dy underage.
