11               KK Malew
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament 
of John Gellin of KK Malew, who being weak in body 
but of sound perfect memory at the making hereof, 
first he committed his soul to God and his body to 
Christian burial.  
He bequeathed to his son Nicholas half the crop of 
corn and his half of all the husbandry gears with 
half the horses excepting a colt which he leaves to 
his son Edward.  
He bequeathed to his son Edward his part of the 
Intack which adjoins to Ballyvarcheen, and desired 
that his loving wife might join in doing the same.  
He bequeathed that his Executrix would give his son 
Edward a cow and a blanket.  
He bequeathed that his son Nicholas was to give his 
son Edward one bowl of barley at allhollantide next.  
He bequeathed to his daughter Catherine two sheep 
and begged his loving wife would be so kind as to 
take care and provide for her.  
Lastly, he constituted and appointed his loving 
wife sole Executrix of all the rest of his goods 
moveable and unmoveable whatsoever.         
To all and every article as requested, I do give

This will is accepted by consent of Partys upon 
these terms, vizt., that the testator’s daughter 
Cath: besides the legacies left her, is to receive 
from her mother the sum of twenty shillings, from 
her brother Nicholas fourty shillings, & from her 
brother Edward the sum of twenty shillings.  
Whereupon the widow is sworn Executrix in form of 
Law, and gave pledges her son Nicholas Gelling and 
Mark Cain of Castletown.  
The Widow has also acknowledged her consent as 
above expressed, and does hereby give up her part 
of the Intack mentioned in the Will, to her son 
Edward in present possession.
