This is affirm’d to be the last will & 
testament of Daniel Teare of Smeal 
made Decembr 23d 1735, being of 
sound mind and memory at the making 
thereof.  
Imprs, He bequeath’d to his son and 
Heir the one halfe of the Cropp, wth 
halfe the team, and halfe the Husbandry 
gears: And turning to his wife he told 
her she knew of all his debts herselfe, 
asking her wth all what consideracion 
she wou’d give to each of his daughters 
and she herselfe to take all the goods, 
to wch the wife made Answr, They 
must get something.  
Witnesses: 
Willm Brew, 
Philip Sayle, jurati.                                 

At KK Andrews, May 12th 1736
Notwithstanding yt no certain Legacy is 
bequeathed by the Testator to his three 
daurs Elizth, Jony & Margery, yet in 
regard it appears yt the debts are 
considerable, & yt the wid: consents to 
give to her sd children the sum of four 
pound & ten shills in lieu of wt mt become 
due unto them by the decease of their 
fathr wch sd sum of four pounds & 
ten shills the overseers vizt, Wm Cowle 
& Phil: Tear believe to be equivalent to, 
if not more than their porporcion of 
goods wou’d amount to.  
The above will is therefore accepted.  
And the Wid: is accordingly sworn 
Execrx in form of Law:  
Pledges are Mr. Nicho: Cowley & 
Phil: Sayle Seir.      

The Overseers above mencioned are 
Sworn according to Law.  
Probatum est & Solvit 12d.

An Inventory of the goods & Effects 
belonging to John Teare the Heir of 
Smeal in KK Andrews, by ye last Will 
of his Fathr Dan: Teare decd priz’d 
by four Sworn men, vizt., Wm Teare, 
Phil Faragher, John Cowle, & John 
Camaish junr.      
Imprs, Fourty & four Hattacks & three 
   sheaves of Barley priz’d at 14d per stook, 
   the Hattack containing nine sheaves 
   with the Tythe Sheaf;     
Itt, fifteen Hattacks of Barley, Pease, 
   & Rie one wth another at 14d per stook;      
Itt, Twenty & three Stooks, & six 
   sheaves of Barley at 14d per stook  1:4:5;     
Itt, Fifty three Hattacks &  4 sheaves 
   of Oats at 9d per Hatt;      
Itt, The plow, & draughts  0:4:00;      
Itt, Coulter & sock  0:2:0.   

Memorandum: ye Heir part of ye Team valu’d at  03 : 06 : 8.   
Memdm: Husbandry Gears, Corbs for the Heir.                        

27th May 1737 
Dan: Tear Jane owns to have Rec’d from the 
widow of Danl Tear Smeal the Deads pt 
of 3 pounds : 05 shillings : 4 pence, 
and this before me, Edw: Moore.               

July 12th 1737: 
An Accnt of wt was expended by the Widow 
towards saving the Heirs part of the Crop:  
To, 30 Sheaves at 4d per Day   0:10:0;     
It, 4 men stacking &c  0:01:4;   
 To weeding on the Heirs part & Labrs at 4d per  0:02:8
