   Articles of Marriage agreed and concluded upon by
   and betwixt Edward Lawson & his wife Ann
   Lawson als Crinnel in the behalf of their son
   Edw Lawson on the one part and Elea. Cowle
   in her own behalf all of KK Andreas as foll.
Imprimus It is agreed upon that the sd Edw Lawson & Eleanor
   Cowle shall enter in the holy estate of Matrimoney
   within fourteen days after the date hereof.
2 It is agreed upon and the sd Edw Lawson and
   his wife Ann Lawson als Crinnel do give to
   & settle upon their sd son Edw Lawson & his lawful
   issue by way of inheritance the one half of all
   his lands, houses & crops of corn together with
   the one half of all the rest of his goods personal
   & real in personal possession and the other half
   of all the aforsd particulars & goods after the
   death of the longer liver of the sd Edward and
   Ann his wife.
3 In consideration of half the particulars beforesd 
   the young couple Edw Lawson & Eleanor Cowle
   do oblige themselves to give to their sd father
   & mother Edward & Ann Lawson the one half
   of the sd Eleanrs Cowles goods or marriage dowry
   imediately after their marriage and to pay
   over & above to their brother Willm Lawson
   the sum of thirty seven shillings when he
   calls for it at any time after the death of the
   longer liver of either his father of mother.
Lastly for the true performance of all and
   singular the above articles Edw Lawson [Ann]
   Lawson Edw Lawson junr & Eleanr Cowle do
   herby bind & oblige themselves their a[ssgns]
   exectrs under the penalty of twenty pounds ..
   in the nature of all other fines as witness
   their marks to their names Septbr 13th 1728
Note that before the signing hereof Edw Lawson
   senr has reserved twelve shills out of his ...
   part of goods towards the discharging of ...
   debts.

The within Marriage Contract having been acknowledged
before the Deemster & now openly published in
Court & no objection offered agt it therefore the
same is allowed of & confirmed according to law,

At a Chapter court in Lez:Ayre, 26th Octor 1736
The within contract bargain having been acknowledged
by the Partys before the Deemr and also confirmed
by the Temporal Court - the same is accepted for
the last will of Edwd Lawson senr & of Ann his
wife - and pursuant thereto his son Edw: Lawson
is sworn in form of Law & has given pledges
