Alice Corlet als Cain departed this life abt the 15th of Aug (I believe they misread the month in KLezayre MI Book which read April) last past intestate - Whereupon the court hath decreed her five children, Daniel, Alice, Mary, Jony and Anne joint administrators of all her goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever. Who being all under age, the uncles David Cain and Richard Lawson are sworn overseers - And surrenders the tuition of the children with their goods to the father who is sworn in form of law and hath given pledges Nicholas Kewley and John Caley. Pat Cain grandfather of the orphans with the son David do engage to maintain Alice one of the administrators and they together with Lawson do further oblige themselves to be at ---- charges for nursing the youngest child till she be a year old. !Alice Corlet legatee of her Mother Alice Corlet als Cain and also of her grand father Doncan Corlet acknowledges to have received at and from the hands of her step mother Mary Corlet als Clark executrix of her husband Thomas Corlet the sum of one poind nineeten shillings six pence being in full for the legacies bequeathed to said Alice by her mother and grandfather deceased- And hereby acquits her said stepmother Mary Corlet and her executors of the same forever, before me this 15 Sep 1752 Alice Corlet's mark X Mary Corlet legatyee of her grandfather Doncan Corlet and also of her mother Alice Corlet als Cain acknowledges to have received at and from the hands of her stepmother Mary Corlet als Clark the executrix of her husband Thos Corlet the sum of one pound four shillings and six pence being in full for that part of the legacies bequeathed to said Mary by her said grandfather and said mother deceased that her said stepmother is obliged to pay her and she and Mary Corlet hereby acquit her stepmother and her executors of the same forever this 15 Sep 1752. Ann Corlet legatee of her grandfather Doncan Corlet and of her mother Alice Corlet als Cain acknowledges to have received at and from the hands of her stepmother Mary Corlet also Clark the sum of one pound fifteen shillings and three pence in part for the legacies bequeathed said Ann by her said grandfather and by her said mother deceased (The sum of a pewter dish, four shillings and three pence remaining yet was satisfied by her said stepmother Mary Corlet and hereby acquits her said stepmother and executors of the said same received forever before me this 15th Sep 1752 Ann Corlet's mark X To be amended to the decree and inventory of Alice Corlet 2 Sep 1736. Kirk Michael July 9th 1752 Daniel Corlet son of the within mentioned and by consent to his father's will Lib: --- 1752 as also by agree in and thereunto annexed has acquited and relinquished all his right to the part of goods given him by his said mother as well as by his grandfather as more fully appears by the said will and agreement his proportion is therefore hereby cancelled by me Ja: Wilks.
