121      Maughold
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Catherine Kerruish
alias Garrett of KK Maughold who departed this life about the 28th of
December 1740. Being of perfect mind and memory.
She committed her soul to God and her body to Christian burial.
Item:  She left and bequeathed to her eldest son John her part of the
croft called and known by the name of "Prescots Croft" with all the
appurtenances thereunto belonging or her part of the consideration
money of the said croft; she also left him a quarter of the old cow, and a
quarter of the young cow; her part of the corn and of the big wheel, her
part of the griddle and pot, and she left her riding hood to her son Ewan
and the aforesaid John equally between them.
 She left and bequeathed to said son Ewan a quarter of the young cow,
and her part of a ------ in Ballneselves and a quarter the little heiffer
at home, and a brown petticoat, and she left her part of the sheep equally
between her said sons Ewan and her son Daniel and also her part of the wool
and of the kear cloath and a whole piece and half pieces of Earthen ware and
likewise her part of the heckled flax and as much yarn as will make each of
them a pair of stockings, and one hundred of her rings to each of them, with
a coarse sheet a piece, a bottle and piece to each of them, and  or little
pot between them.
 She left and bequeathed to her son Daniel her part of an heifer in
Ballneselve and a quarter of the little heiffer at home, a bedstead, and
blanket.
Item she left to her loving husband a quarter of the old cow, her part of
the big pot which pot is to fall to Ewan and Daniel after their father's
decease, her part of the bed and bed cloathes she left to her said husband
which is to fall to her son John after his said father's decease. She also
left to her husband her part of the big chest, a barrel, churn, a tub and a
pail.  She left to her niece Isabel Garrett a pair of bodys.
To her sister Anne Garrett a red petticoat.
She further left to her son John a fledge and blanket with per part of the
uncleaned flax and hemp and herring netts and to the witnesses six pence
each.
And lastly she did constitute and appoint her loving husband John
Kerruish and her eldest son John to all the rest of her goods and chattels
of what nature denomination soever.
