The last will and testament of Gilbert Cowley of the parish of KK
Michael who departed the life the 15th Nov anno dom 1742.  And being of
perfect mind and memory at the making hereof.
First he committed his soul to God and body to Christian burial.
Item:  He left and bequeathed all his right and title of and unto the Croft
called Crott Balltruan to his eldest son Philip Cowley unto which his
wife Margt Cowley als Caine gave her consent to settle her part of the
premises upon their said son Philip immediately after his decease.  He
the said Philip paying unto his brother Thos Cowley the sum of three pounds.
Item He left unto his said son Thos Cowley bed cloathes and a little
chest.
Item He with the consent of his wife as aforesaid left and settled their
Bork or horse upon their said son Philip Cowley, as also all the rest of
his goods of what nature soever.

Philip Cowley son of the testator is sworn executor in form of law.
Margt Cowley the widow gives her consent to settle her part of the croft
upon said Philip after her decease pledges for payment of debts and legacies
are the witnesses of the will.

I Thos Cowley of the Churchtown of KK Michael son of the within
testator  Gilbert Cowley do hereby acknowledged to have rec'd at upon
the hands of my brother Philip Cowley executor of the last will and
testament of my said father the sum of three pounds legacy which was left
and bequeathed to me by my said father as also the other legacies of the bed
clothes and little chest.  I do hereby acquit release and discharge my said
brother Philip Cowley his executors administrators and assigns thereof
forever as witness my subscription on or mark my name the day and date above
written.
