Ballaugh 1742 The last will of Margret Kewley als Kelly who departed this life September the 9th anno predicto being of perfect mind and memory is in the manner following. First she commits her soul to God and her body to Christian burial. Item she left a black fledding petticoat to her grand daughter viz Jane Cannon as legacy. Item she left to her daughter Margery Cannon als Taggart a green apron as legacy. Itm she left to her daughter Alice Kewley als Taggart a red petticoat as Legacy, and if she would accept of it she was to return one shilling for it to her Exor and some of her shifts or smocks to ye said Alice as legacy. Item. she left some of her shaped linnins to Cannons children being Margerys childrens as legacy. Item she left to her granddaughter viz Margaret Steven als (Bridson?) a black gown as legacy and to pay five shill for it. Itm she left to one of ye witnesses viz Margt Callister a big hood of chamlet and to the other witness of her will viz Cathe- rin Cooil a petty coat as legacy and she declared that all his fathers goods was payd to her son John Taggart except ten shills ye is due to him as yet. Itm lastly she named her loving husband Willm Kewley her lawful exor of all her goods whatsoever and sixpence legacy to all her children that would claim further right to her goods and this in the presence of us whose names are here written October 25th 1743 Catherin Cooile her mk + Margt Cain als Callister her mk + jurati The executor is sworn in court in form of law and has given pledges - namely John Kewley & Wm Kewley his own sons. solvit 12d Probatum est Joh: Cosnahan Edv: Moore
