The last will and testmt of Kathr: Lawson
als Tear, made about the 25th of Novembr 1744
being of sound mind & memory at ye making
thereof.
Imprs she comitted her soul to God & body to
Christian burial.
It. she left to her son John Lawson the twenty
shillings her neighbour William Tear oweth her
and he himselfe to recover them off sd Tear, to=
gether wth the barrel and the basket that her sd
son had his own herring & meal in, & ye gridle.
It. she left to her son James all her houses and
lands, the table & its fraim, the dresser, the bed=
stocks, the cropp, and chair, her part of the
fleer at Andrew Quirk's, wth a barrel & baskets;
but in case her sd son James takes not all necessary
care of his brother Richard then all the testatrix's
right of the above sd particulars are to be enjoy'd
equally between ye next of kindred to sd Richard
who are to take care of him in all things needful,
and sd James cutt off the whole wth six pence legacey
and return the three pounds his mother paid in his
behalfe for the land to the next of kindred as be=
foresd.
It. she left to her son James's eldest daughter
a pewter dish, two trenchers, and as much fine
linen as would make her a shift. And whatever
leavings would be of her daughter Katherine's
gown she left it to her sd son's youngest daughter.
It. she declar'd that what goods were due to
her daughter Katherine by her Father's decease, are
in her brothr James's hands, wch he also own'd.
It. she further declar'd that her brother William Tear
oweth her twenty shilling, wth halfe an ox that
is at present in his keeping.
Lastly, she nominated and appointed her
daughter Katherine sole and lawful Exectrx
of all the rest of her goods movable & immovable
wahtsover.

The Exuctrx is sworn in Court in form of Law
and hath given pledges for payment of
debts & legacys vizt Thomas Cowle and
James Radcliffe.
