56 In the name of God, Amen. I Margt. Joyner als Oates of Douglas being sick & weak in body but of sound & perfect memory, do make this my last will and testament in manner following: First, I commit my soul to God and body to Christian burial. Item, I leave and bequeath to my loving son Thomas one guinea. Item, I leave & bequeath to my loving daughter Elizabeth seven pounds Manks money with my trunk that has my linens in, and all that is in the same, half of all the linen & woolen in the house, a furnished feather bed, six of the new pewter dishes, & a dozen of pewter plates, a silver cup, three of the black cattle called Cets[?] & if any person disputes the sd cattle with her, then she is to have three others out of the whole in their stead of equal age or goodness, & also half of the seat in Douglass Chapple. Item, I leave Margt my husband’s daughter by a former wife, six pence legacy & do cut off all other claimers with six pence legacy. And lastly, do nominate & appoint my dear and loving husband Thomas Joyner whole & sole Executrx of all the rest of my goods moveable or immoveable of what kind soever, as witness my mark to my name this 28th of Janry 1744/5, Margaret Joyner X. Witnesses: Ewan Kerrish, Edwd Sayle X. I Thomas Joyner husband to the above Testatrix Margaret Joyner do join with her & consent to leave our loving daughter Elizabeth half of our seat in Douglass Chapple, witness my hand this 28th of Janry 1744/5 [signed by his hand] Thomas Joyner.
