Archdeacon Will 1746 #48 Maughold, of Ann Costean als Looney, widow of 
Ken:ne:hennin, Maughold, died Saturday 17 January 1746/7

This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Ann Costean als Looney widdow in Ken:ne:hennin and
parrish of KK Maughold who departed this life on Satturday the 17th of January 1746/7 being of good and
perfect mind and memory at the making thereof.
    She committed her soul to God and her body to Christian burial.
     Imprs: she left a mutton to her brother William Looney in order to be sold by him to buy dale boards
 to be her a coffin with some russet yearn to serve her to the ground and if yt would not serve the rest to
 be taken out of her effects.
     Ittem she left and bequeathed to her onely son and heir William Costean all her whole right of the cropp
 and all husbandry gears with a steer and half of another young steer about a year old next May; and all the
small wooden vessels in the house; and two earthen crocks; and a little or small iron pott and a griddle and
 all the bedcloathes in the house.
     Ittem she left and bequeathed to her afforesd son Wm Costean & to her daughter Margrett Costean all her
 sheep equally betwixt them, and that if her sayd son would embaisele or waist them by selling them idlely
 without his said sisters consent that then & in that case he is to be debared and quitt of the sd sheep & his
 sister afforesd is to have them all for her own proper use.
    Ittem she left and bequeathed to her afforesd daughter Margt Costean all the afforesd sheeps wool at clipping
 time next summr with a cowe and a chist and all that was therein.
    Lastly she nominated and appointed her afforesd daughter Margtt: Costean sole Execrx of all the rest of her
 goods and effects of what nature or kind soever: and six pence apiece or a yeareling apeice whether the
 Executrix pleaseth ---- to the wittnesses hereof.

At a Court of Correction at Lez:ayre ffeb: 25th 1746: The Execrx is sworn in Court 
in form of Law and hath given pledges for paymt of debts and legacys namely William 
Looney and John Stole the witness.

Jan: 5th 1747: Ewan Costean enters a claim agt the Execrx of Ann Costean for the 
sum of twelve shillings and six pence.
