3 We affirm this to be the last Will and Testament of Ann Lawson alis Cain wife of Richard Lawson of Douglas who on the 20th day of March instant a little while before her departing this life that day. De: clared this to be her mind and will being of perfect mind and sound memory. Committing her soul to God and her body to Christian burial. Imprs She left and bequeathed unto her seven children vizt. Eward, Richd, John, Patrick and David Jony and Ann Lawson three shillings each for their Legacy. Item She constitued nominated and ordained her loving husband Richd Lawson sole and whole Executor of all the rest of her goods moeable and immoveable of what kind or nature whatsoever as also the care and tuition of the children: He leaving at his death totheir said children what effects he might have to spare or left, but that if he was in need or want that he might morgage sell and dispose of any of the effects houses or lands as he thought proper. To which Will and Testament her siad husband richd consented in our presence and this we aver as wittness our names and marks this 28th of march 1747. Cathrine Alexander my mrk X Margaret Cottier She further declared that her eldest son or Heir was to have no right in their father's effects [if he should have any] but the 3 shillings legacy as there was lands of inheritancedue to him as heir and furthe said that the same} Catherine Alexander my mrk X was to descend unto him free } Margaret Cottier At a Chapter Court in KK Braddan June 19 17.. Richard Lawson the widower is sworn executor & for paymt of debts & legacys accoridng to law. He is also sworn overseer of the children, who together with their ghoods are pursuant to the will committed unto him. He now gives his consent to settle & leave at his death the houses and lands as more fully expressed by the test: :trix in the within will. And has given pledges namely Mr Tho: Fargher & Robt Kermod.
