The last will & Testament of Thos.Boddaugh of ~ 
Ballaugh who departed this life the 28th.of Jan1747/8 
being of perfect Mind & Memory at he making hereof 
Impe.He Committed his Soul to God & Body to Christian burial 
2dly.he bequeathed the Sum of three pounds unto his Son Simon Bod
daugh and the Sum of ten shillings unto his neighbour 
Tho.Calister and if the sd.Child died under age 
his Legacy to descend unto his Executors
3dly.he Excluded all Claimers with Six pence Legacy, & left 6 pence 
to Each the witnesses of this will 
Lastly he nominated Constituted & appointed his Loving wife 
Sole Exer.of all the rest of his Goods of what nature soever

     in form of Law ~ And Consents in Court 
     to give unto Danl.Boddaugh Racr.of 
     the Deceased, a Choice Suit of Cloathes, 
     Viz.Coat, Vest, Breaches - Shoes & Stickins ~ 
     ~ She has given pledges for payment of 
     Debts & Legacys Viz.Wm.Corlet & John 
     Cannell ~ She is also Sworn Overseer ~ 
     of Simon mentioned in the Will ~ 
Solvit~12d.    Probatum est EdwMoore RoRadcliffe 

July 3.1760~ Simon Boddaugh came this day to the Registry 
& there recd.from John Killip ['his stepfather' crossed out] new 
husband of the Execex.within named, the Sum of three 
pounds being the Legacy bequeathed to him by the 
Testator Thos.Boddaugh & does therefore acquit & 
discharge this sd.John Killip & Wife of the same 
for Ever ~ Before me Matth.Curghey ArRg~. 
Eod~dic~ Thos.Callister came also to the Regry. & 
acknowledged that he has recd.from Ellinr.Boddaugh 
now Wife of John Killip the Sum of Ten Shills.being 
the Legacy left to him by the Testator as mentioned 
in the within Will ~ & does hereby acquit & discharge 
her sd. Ellin~.& her husband of the same for Ever
