This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of 
Mrs. Margaret Crain who departed this life in or about 
29th January 1747/8, being sick of body but of perfect 
mind & memory at the making hereof, in manner following. 
First, she committed her soul unto god and her 
body to Christian burial. 
Item, she left and bequeathed unto her daughter Deborah 
her best gown, best quilted petticoat, and a stone[?] ring, 
as also two coverlets, a pair of blankets, a bed quilt 
and a fedder[?feather] bed. 
Item, she declared that she paid her daughter Deborah 
five pounds of the legacy that was left her by her father 
the Revd. Mr. Woods. 
Item, she left to her grandson Thomas Wilks all the 
books belonging to her. 
Lastly, she nominated and appointed her loving son in 
law the Revd. James Wilks and his wife Margaret whole 
and sole executors of all the rest of her goods moveable 
and immoveable. 
Excluding all other persons that may or can claim any 
right to her goods with six pence legacy.

William Clucas, 
William Stevenson. 

At a Court of Correction holden 
at Balnyhown, 
the Revd James Wilks is sworn executor in form of Law, 
and has given pledges for payment of debts and legacies, 
namely Capt. Wm Stephenson & Wm Clucas the witnesses
