The last will and testament of Thos Cowley of Knockbane who being
weak and sick in body but of perfect mind and memory at the making thereof.
He committed his soul to Almighty God and his body to
Christian burial.  He left to the poor of the parish a furlett of meal to be
distributed half thereof against Easter and the other half against Holland
tide next.
He left to his son Thos the little brown cow, the steer gilded this last
season, and the colt of the gray mare, Also he left to his son Richard half
a Bullock of four years old
Item he left to his daughter Cath 2 yr old yellow cow and a quarter of a
steer three years old.
He left to his three children namely Richd, Thos, and Cathrine one
blanket each.
Item he left to his son Patt his best coat and to his son Thos his big
coat.
 Item he left to Joney Castill a black sheep with her lamb.  Item he left
to all his grandchildren exception Joney one lamb each legacy and to that
said Joney a quarter of a young calf arearing as legacy.
Item he left to his grandson Thos half and old goat.
Item he left to his son Patrick all his households furniture in the
dwelling house and in the out houses excepting the big chest.
Item He left to his son Thomas the big chest and new fledge in the house
a quarter of hiefer of four years in reward of his christening pony and the
said Thos to give his brother Patrick seven shillings.
Item he left to his three children Richard, Thomas, and Catharine jointly
and equally in all his sheep saving what is needful toward his funeral
charges and to the witness hereof six pence each and to be paid by Richard,
Thomas, and Catharine.
Item He left to his brother John half of gray cow.
Lastly he nominated constituted and appointed son Patrick sole executor of
all the rest of his goods movable and immovable whatsoever this the 14th
