The last will and testament of John Sayle of Larrivane made the latter
end of May 1748 being of sound mind and memory at the making thereof. Imp:
He committed his soul to God and body to Christian burial.
Item:  He left his part of the mare and foal to his son William and also
his part of the crop such as it would be when his said son William comes
to the age of twenty one years for his mother is to enjoy the estate till
when, who has consented to give her said son her share of the said mare and
foal wholly and to be allowed to run in the estate and take her luck
and also her part of the husbandry gears when she has done with them herself
for he is to have his father's part of the gears when he arrives at the age
of twenty one years.
Item:  He left a parcel called Doggey Vours Gatt to his said son William
(and he to pay forty shillings to his sisters Catharine, Joney, and
Margaret between them, which sum he said was the price of the said
Gatt cost when he purchased it)and two sheep and two lambs.
Item He left forty shillings each to his three daughters Catharine, Joney,
and Margret together with a sheep and a lamb to each of them, and a sheep
and a lamb to his daughter Anne.
Lastly He nominated and appointed his wife Catharine Sayle als Moore
sole and lawful executrix of all the rest of his goods moveable and
unmovable whatsoever.
To the witnesses 6 pence each.

Note:  That the witnesses further declare that the testator at the making of
his will mentioned also that his wife should take care of his children
till they came to age.
The widow is sworn executrix and for payment of debts and legacy according
to law.  She also gives her consent to the several particulars
as more fully mentioned in the within will.  Cath and Anne the  children
at age are together with the mother sworn overseers of the orphans: Pledges
in form of law are John Cormoad and Wm Kneal

KK Michael May 31 1769 William, Catherine and Margaret Sayle with
Andrew Joughin husband of Joney Sayle acknowledge to be paid the
legacies devised unto them by their father and payable by their mother
Catherine and hereby acquit and discharge their said mother her
executors and administrators of the same.  Save and except that William has
not received his mother's moiety of the husbandry gears.  Witness their
names and marks

Catherine and Margaret Sayle above named with Andrew Joughin
husband of Joney Sayle also acknowledge to be paid by their brother
Willm the sum of forty shillings equally between them on account of a parcel
of land called Doggy Voar's Gatt mentioned in the within will and hereby
acquit and discharge their said brother his heirs executors and
administrators of the same.  Witness their names
