89          Bride
This Is affirmed to be the last will 
and testament of Samuel Christian who 
departed this life about the 24th of 
February 1747/8 being of perfect and 
sound mind and memory at the making 
hereof.  
First he committed his soul to God 
and his body to Christian burial.  
Item, he left to his son Jon. Three 
pounds which he gave to his said son 
to put in BallaCorry’s land because 
the said Jon would work the land with 
his mother as he was asked to do.  
He left to his said son Jon the half 
of three pounds which was in the hands 
of Patrick Christian of Ballaquark 
and the said Jon. To get them from 
the said Patrick Christian.  
Item, he left to his son Samuel a 
bould of barley or a bould of of malt 
and the choice of his bigg coats.  
Item, he left to the aforesaid Jon 
his son the plow gears, harrows and 
plows after the death of his mother.  
Item, he left to his son Patrick three 
pounds and the choice of his streat garments.  
Item, he left to his son Wm his own 
goods and the bed which the said 
William had.  
Item, he left to his loving wife the 
dresser and all that was on it.  
Item, he left to his daughter Kath: 
twenty pounds and his share of a cow 
called the little cow and a sheep and
 a lamb and a furnished bed.  
 Item, he left to his daughter Joney 
 twenty pounds and a furnished bed and 
 his share of the cloathes and the 
 linens which was within the house.  
 Item, he left to Elisabeth Christian 
 and to Jane Christian a sheep and lamb equally.  
 He declared that Wm Kelly owed him 
 four pounds.  
 He declared that Finloo Christory owed 
 him eight shillings.  
 He declared that Robt Kneal owed him 
 twelve shillings.  
 He declared that Jon. Cannell owed 
 him two pounds.  
 He declared that Wm. Cowll owed him 
 three pounds.  
 Lastly he appointed his loving wife 
 and his son Wm sole Executors of the 
 rest of all his goods moveable and 
 immoveable whatsoever. And two 
 shillings equally to the witnesses 
 of his will.  
 Witnesses: 
 Phillip Crennil, 
 Margt Cammish, juratie.       
 At a [Court held] 
 Jony Christian the widow with Wm Christian 
 the Testator’s son are sworn Executors in 
 form of Law.  
 The widow  declares in Court that the 
 twenty pounds each left to the two daus 
 Cath: & Jony is to be paid viz., twenty 
 pounds thereof out of her own goods, 
 and the other twenty pounds to be paid 
 by her and her co:executor, out of the 
 Dead’s part of goods.  
 Pledges for them are Wm Kneal KK Bride 
 & Wm Goldsmith Lezayre.
