24 Lonan Know all Men by these Presents that I Thomas Skillicorn Senr of Skinscoe in the Parish of KK Lonan Diverse Good causes and valuable considerations me thereunto moving but more especially for the Natural Love and affection which I bear to my Son Philip Skillicorn of Laxey, as also being very old & feeble and resposing true & faithfull Confidence in my Said Son Doe hereby Devise (?) confer and Give in Deed of Gift all my Goods & Effects of what kind & Denomination Soever which I now am possess'd of or may be here after, To him my afforesaid Son to be Solely & wholy his own forever without the let stop hindrance or Molestation of me my Heirs and assigns Confirming and ratifying this my Deed of Gift unto my Son as before mentioned Nullyfying and Making Void all manner of Wills Bargains or Deeds that Have or can be made by me but only this Same Deed of gift Debarring & cutting off all the rest of my Children with Six pence a peice Legacy And for the Upholding or warranting this Same Deed of Gift to my afforsd Son Philip Skillicorn I have bound myself my Heirs Execrs & assigns in penalty of Ten pounds and Have Given delivery & Seizin of the afforsd premisses to my Said Son with a peice of Silver in the presence of the Subscribing Wittnesses In Testimony whereof I have Sett my name & mark this 11th of Decbr 1745 Wittnesses Nathl Curghey Jon Parr 27th May 1746 Mr Nathl Curghey and Jon Parr the Subscribing witnesses made oath that Thomas Skillicorn Senr duly Executed the above Deed of Gift in their presence this before me Jon Taubman At a Court of Correction held at Douglass Jany 21st 175[0?] the within Deed of Gift having been attested by the worshipfull Deemster Taubman, the same is accepted as the last will of the deceased Thos Skillicorn whereupon Philip Skillicorn is sworn exr & has given pledges for paymt of Debts namely James Kelly & John Mylroie both of KK Lonan Acceptum est Ro: Radcliffe Matts Curghey solvit 12d
