TO ALL PEOPLE to whom these presents
Shall come, I, Cathrine Cannel, alias Qualtrough
send Greetings; KNOW YE that I the
said  Cathrine Cannel of the Parish of KK
Christ Rushen in the Isle of Man, widow
for & in consideration of the Love, Good
Will & affection that I now have and Do bear
towards my kind friend Nicholas Tyldesley
of said parish Have Given, Granted and
by these presents, Do fairly, clearly & absolutely
Gift & Grant unto him, the said Nicholas
Tyldesley, his Exrs, Admrs & Assigns all
my Effects & personalty ? of what Nature
or Tort soever with all Debts that are
now due unto me or may & hereafter 
become due unto me one half thereof 
into present & immediate possession &
the other half thereof at my Decease.
He the said Nicholas Tyldesley paying
at my Decease unto my Son John Harrison
x x one shilling British by way of Legacy
& also reserving unto my Self the power
of bequeathing & disposing a further sum
of thirty shillings unto whichever friend
or Relation I shall think fit at my
Decease.
To have & to hold the half or Morety
of my said Effects unto him the said Nicholas
Tyldesley, his Exes, Admrs, & Assigns, as
his own proper Goods & To his use & Behoof
freely, clearly & absolutely forever & the other…….in manner
before direction provided nevertheless
That He the said Nicholas Tyldesley 
shall help & maintain me the said Cathrine 
Cannel in sufficient Meat, Drink, wash??
& Lodging and all other Necessarys 
during my Natural Life otherwise
this present Deed or Writing to be void
& of None Effect in Law.  And the 
said Cathrine Cannel have put him
the said Nicholas Tyldesley into prace??
possession of the premises by the Gift or
Delivery of one shilling Brittish to him
The said Nicholas Tyldesley the day of the
date of these presents, which I have
delivered in the name of Soizin? & possession
of all & singular the premos. And for the
true performance hereof I bind and oblige
myself in the penalty of one hundred
pounds to be paid in the nature of all
fines within this Isle. In witness whereof
I have hereunto … of my mark to my
name this fifth day of November one
thousand seven hundred and fourty five.

Catherine Cannell als Qualthrough
Acknowledged the before written 
Deed of Gift to be Her Voluntary 
Act & Deed.  The sd Cath Cannell
agreed that the sum of thirty shillings
reserved to her own disposal after
death should fall and come to her Son
John Harrison.  This before me

The foregoing Deed of Gift being acknowledged before
the worshipfull Deemster Taubman, the Same is
Accepted as the Last Will & Testament of Cath
Cannell als Qualtrough .  And Nicholas Tyldesley 
is sworn for payment of Debts according to Law, and
has given Pledges namely Edward Waterson of Rushen
& Saml Moore of Castletown.
