Archdeacon Will 1751 #33 Maughold of John Costean of Bwooilleevelt, Maughold, died 15 April 1751.

This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of John Costean of Boul:Evelt[?] in the parish of KK Maughold,
 who departed this life the 15th of April 1751 being of perfect mind & memory.
   Imprs: He committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial.
   Item, he left and bequeathed to his granddaughter Isabel a small cow.
   Item he bequeathed to his granddaughter Ann a heifer that is upon the Estate, & another
 heifer that's in Kionnitienin.
   Item, he bequeathed to his granddaughter Cathrine a sheep & lamb.
   Item he bequeathed to his grandson John half a stone[?] horse that is with Robt Lowey in 
Ballnesloe.
   Item he bequeathed to his granddaughter Margtt: a sheep and lamb.
   Item he bequeathed to his granddaughter Joney twenty shillings that's in Robert
 Joughin's hands.
   Item he did declare that the persons hereafter mentioned ware indebted unto him  the sd
John Costean,
 John Cannell Ballafail one pound fourteen shills;  Wm Callow Ballayilly one pound eleven
shills:,
 Patt: Quay twenty shills:, Wm Kermode twenty shills;  John Stoile Y dooers[?] half a crown.
 Thos: Corkil twelve shills: & three pence.   Edward Kerruish  eight shills & nine pence.
Wm Callow's wife
 six shills & five pence.   Wm Callow two pounds two shills.   John Corkill one shilling &
two pence.
   Cathrine Lowey a tub of meatiorn[?]   Ewan & Ann Karran twenty shills.    James Quill
sixteen shills,
 James Tear & son Daniel sixteen shills.    John Cammuish five shills.   Item he left and
bequeathed all
 the money due to him as before mentioned to Isabel, Ann & Cathrine to be put out upon
interest for their
 proper uses.
   Item he left to Dan: Joughin and daughter two shills: and four pence each;
   Item he left to Daniel Kewaly one shilling & two pence.
   Item he left to John Costean & son the coat & weastcoat he had then upon him.
   To the witnesses of the Will vizt: the Revd Mr Allen the best motten in his flock, Wm
Callow 3s 6d.
   Lastly he did constitute and appoint his daughter Ann Kerruish als Costean whole and
sole Executrix
 of the rest of his goods and chattels of what nature soever.

Witnesses:  Thomas Allen, Wm Callow my mark X, jurati.

At a Chapter Court at Lezayre May 21d 1751:  Robert Kerruish the Husband of the Excx sworn in Court
 in form of Law, and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies, namely, the
Revd Mr. Thos: Allen
 and Wm Callow, the witnesses of the will.   Solvit 12d,  Probatum est.  Ro: Radcliffe,
Matts Curghey.

Whereas John Costean of Bwooilleevelt in the Parish of KK Maughold & Joney Costean his wife did by this last
 will & testament respectively bequeath unto Catharine Kerruish one of their granddaughters
several legacies,
 Know all men therefore by these presents that I John Black of the town of Ramsay husband
of sd Catharine
 Kerruish do hereby acknowledge to have recd & to be fully paid & satisfied for the several
respective legacies
 bequeath my sd wife Catharine Kerruish, by her grandfather & grandmother John Costean &
Joney Costean
 aforesaid, And I do hereby acquit exonerate release & discharge the Exrs of my sd
grandfather & grandmother
 John Costean and Joney Costean aforesd of the several legacies bequeathed unto m sd wife
Catharine Kerruish
 als Black.
 Witness my subscription this 14th May 1778, John Black.
 14 May 1778: John Black acknowledged the above discharge to be his voluntary act & Deed,
before me, Thos: Cubbon.

I Ann Callow als Kerruish one of the granddaughters of John Costean of Bool-E-Velt do hereby acknowledge
 to have recd: from my father & mother Robert Kerruish & Ann Kerruish the two heifers
bequeathed me by the
 last will & testament of my sd grandfather & also my part or proportion of the cash
bequeathed me by my sd
 grandfather John Costean,   And also whatever money goods or effects was due unto me by
the last will and
 testament of my grandmother Joney Costean,   And I do hereby acquit release & discharge
the Exrs of my sd
 grandfather & grandmother John Costean & Joney Costean of the several Legacies by them
respectively
 bequeathed unto me, so witness my subscription this 8th day of Novr: 1777.  Ann Callow.
