21   Ballaugh
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Thos Teare of Ballaugh
who departed this life about the 23rd of November last being of sound mind
and memory at the making thereof as follows:
First He committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial
He left and bequeathed five pounds to his wife and in case she was with
child that she said child was to have one half of the said five pounds if
the said child should live but it if it died his said wife was to have the
said five pounds wholly to herself.
He left and bequeathed his part of the sheep that were between himself and
Patrick Caley of the Vollaugh to the said Patrick Caley.  He left and
bequeathed a pair of the best shoes he had to Thos Stephan of the Ballaugh
He left and bequeathed to pair of breeches to Robert Quayle of Ballaugh
idiot.
He left six pence a piece legacy to any person or persons that had a right
to claim it or sue for it and he also left and bequeathed one shilling to
each of the witnesses of his will.
Lastly he nominated and appointed his mother Margaret Caley sole executor of
all the rest of his goods chattels and effects as also of his last will.

At a Court of Correction held at KK Michael 13 Feb 1754.
The executrix is sworn in court in form of law and hath given pledges for
payment of debts and legacies namely Nicholas Mylrea and Wm Kneal the
witnesses of the will.

Lezayre July 11th 1701.
This day Matth:Kelly of Ballachawn in the parish of KK Michael the now
husband of Margaret Teare als Cowley (who was formerly the wife of the
within testator Thos Teare and to whom the said Thos Teare bequeathed this
sum of five pounds as specified in the within will) came to the
Registry and acknowledged that he hath received from Margaret Caley
executrix of the said Thos Tear the said sum of five pounds and doth hereby
acquit and release the said Margt Caley her executors administrators and
assigns of the same forever.
