54     Bride
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament 
of Mrs Dorothy Curghey wife of the Revd. Mr. Matthias 
Curghey Rector of Bride, who departed this life the 
29th of April 1749. First, committed her soul to God 
and her body to Christian burial. 
Secondly, she left to her son Nathaniel Curghey a 
furnished feather bed with the stock and to her 
daughter Catharine Wynn the large dripping pan with 
the large pewter dish if she sends for them. 
Item, she appointed her loving husband Matthias 
Curghey sole executor of all the rest of her goods 
whatsoever and after his decease whatsoever remains 
to fall to her daughter Elizabeth Robinson to 
which the said Revd. Mr. Matthias Curghey hath 
given his consent and also declares and nominates 
his said daughter Elizabeth Robinson sole executrix 
of all his own effects after his death, cutting off 
any person which may claim title to his effects with 
a crown each, and witnesses of the will an English 
shilling each.

At a Chapter Court at Lezayre June 11th, 1754, 
the Revd Mr. Matthias Curghey having as appears by 
the within will and probate thereunto annexed, 
nominated and appointed his daughter Mrs. Elizabeth 
Robinson executrix of all his effects that should 
remain at the time of his decease, Capt. Thomas 
Gawn, now Husband of the said Elizabeth is sworn 
for payment of debts and legacies according to Law 
and hath given pledges namely Capt. Daniel Lace 
and Mr. Richard Allen of Douglas
