The last will and testament of Susannah Christian 
als Moore of KK German who departed this life 
about the beginning of March anno dom. 1757, 
being of sound and perfect mind and memory 
at the making hereof. 
First, she committed her soul to God and 
body to Christian burial. 
Item, she left and bequeathed to her son 
John Christian fifteen pounds but in case 
her said son should depart this life before 
he arrived at lawful age that then the 
said fifteen pounds was to descent and 
fall to her husband Thomas Christian and 
her sister Isabel Moore vizt., eight pounds 
to her said husband and seven pounds to 
her said sister. 
Item, to her said sister two blue gowns 
and one Holy Day blue quilted petticoat, 
mantle, hat and cloak, with all her shaped 
linens and an heifer of two years old. 
Item, to her spinner Margaret Cannell two 
wearing quilted petticoats and to Robert 
Stephan’s wife a wearing petticoat. 
Item, to old James Honton’s wife two wearing shifts. 
Item, she left two kishans barley to 
blind Goldsmith, two kishans to James Honton 
and two kishans to old Mylvorrey’s wife. 
Item, she left six pence legacy to any 
person that might pretend legal right to 
sue for her goods and six pence each to 
the witnesses. And lastly she nominated 
and appointed her beloved husband Thomas 
Christian sole Executor of all the rest 
of her goods moveable and immoveable 
whatsoever.

Margaret Quiggin. 

At a Chapter Court holden at 
Balnyhown June 11th 1757
The Executor is sworn in Court in form 
of Law and has given pledges for payment 
of debts and legacies namely Nicholas Quork 
the witness and James Mcylchreest of 
Lambfield. And in regard no relation on 
the Dead’s part has appeared to be sworn 
Supervisor of the orphan, he with his 
goods are in the meantime committed 
to the tuition of the father. 

June 2nd 1758: John Dawson & his wife 
Isabel enter against the Executor of 
Susannah Christian als Moor for 1 pound 5 shilling 3 pence
