Andrews This last Will and Testament of Alice Kaneen als Cleator of Gat-a-whing & parish of KK Andrews who departed this life abt the 13th of Augst 1759, and was in perfect & sound mind & memory at the making of it. She committed her Soul to God & Body to Christian Burial. Itm. To her nephew John Cleator junr she bequeath’d half of her cow. Itm. To Sd John Cleator’s Wife she bequeath’d three yards of barragh Linnin. Itm. To Sd Cleator’s Daughter she left half a lamb & said that the other half thereof did belong to her self before. Itm. To Bahee Sayle she left a petty-coat with a piece added to the its uperend & a pottle of org’d corn -- Itm. To Wm Killips wife she left a Shute of Head Cloths -- Itm. To Jo: Cleator senr daughter she left a Coif of the new Linnin – Itm. To Jo: Cleator senr she left a sheep & said withal that there was a chest of his in her house & to take it after her decease – Itm. She will’d that in case her child should dye before she woud arrive to Age that then her Goods was to come due to her brother John Cleater senr aforsyd and to his son John Cleator aforesd and to her sister Robt Cannell’s wife to them equally betwisch them, And left six pences Legacy to her sister Dan: Tear’s wife in case her to child shoud dye underage as is also aforsyd. Itm. She declar’d that there was a fledge of hers in Robt Cannel’s house and that it shoud come home. Itm. She declar’d that she ow’d Wm Killip 6s – To Wm Cowin 13s. To Wm Mores son 3d – To Jo:Joughin’s maid 2d – To Tho Cowl 2d. To Tho Sayle 3d – To Wm Garrett Sons 3d – To Wm Cleator 4d – To her Bror Jo: Cleator 14d or a lamb & if he takes the lamb he is paid yd 14d. She further declar’d that she paid Pat Dan Cormode 40s, & 20s to Robt Cannell & paid James Garrett what was due to him & that these were debts in her deceasd husbds lifetime & as yet uncrop’d upon the Spiritual Registry. Itm. She will’d that her apparel should not be sold praisd but that whoever would clothe her child should have it. Itm. She Will’d that there was corn in the house to pay debts & to maintain her child with John Cleator her forsyd nephew till Hollow lide nebel which Wm Killip owed the Witness members was the Oates that was in the house was towards the child’s maintainance & thereft to pay debts. Wm Killys one of the Witnesses Declares that the Testratx left her Bottys & that work left her two days a flesy, the will making stomacher to her neoce Alice Cleater To the witnesses of this Will she left 12d each and said also that she had no exectx but her foresaid child namely Catherin Kaneen whom she then upon their puting her in mind nominated her Execex of all the rest of her goods movable and immovable whatsoever.
