I, HENRY ALLEN of the town of Douglas merchant, being of sound mind and memory, 
but mindful of the uncertainty of this life, do make this my last will 
and testament in manner and form following:  
First, I commit my soul to Almighty God, hoping through the merits of 
my blessed Redeemer to obtain forgiveness of all my sins, and my body 
to be buryed at the direction of my executrix hereafter mentioned.   
Secondly, I leave and bequeath to my loving BROTHER RICHARD ALLEN half a guinea.   
Thirdly, I leave and bequeath to any person or persons that may claim 
under this my last will six pence legacy.   
Fourthly, I leave and bequeath to the witnesses of this my will a crown each.   
Lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my loving and affectionate 
WIFE JANE ALLEN whole and sole executorix of all the rest 
of my goods and chattles of what kind or nature soever.  
In testimony whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this 
fourteenth day of Janry. 1756.  [signed] Henry Allen

AT A COURT OF CORRECTIONS HELD at Douglas March 17th, 1760:  
The executrix is sworn in Court in form of law and hath 
given pledges for payment of debts and legacies, viz., 
Wm Christian and Thomas Christian, the witnesses of the will.       1

0th Sep 1760, Mr Wm Teare exr. Of the last will and 
testament of Mr. Wm. Murrey late of Douglas merchant, 
did enter against the exr. Of Mr Henry Allen for 30 pounds.     

10th sept 1760: Mr Wm Teare of Douglas merchant enters against the exr. For 13 pounds.      

6th Nov 1760: Mr. John Taubman enters against the exrs. of Henry Allen for 14 pounds      

7th Nov 1760: Matthew Hutchinson Johnson enters against the exrs. Of Henry Allen for 2 pounds 12.0.    

18th March 1760: Robert Corlet enters a claim against the execr. of Henry Allen 
for the sum of 4 pounds 18 shillings and 4 pence.     

Charlotte Teare wife of the claimer has made oath that she sold to the deceased
