14   KK Michael Novr.24.1760 

This affirmed to be the Will & Testament of Thomas 
Cannell of Ballafadjeen & Joney Cannell als Cottier his wife, 
who being especially weak in body but of Sound & disposing 
mind & memory, Severally willed & bequeathed as folls. 
First- They Severally comended their Soul to God & Body to 
Christian Burial ~ Itm.They left & bequeathed to their two 
Daughters Joney & CathCannell the Sum of Ten Pounds 
equally between them, and a Heiffer to each of them and 
the Testrx.Joney further bequeathed to her eldest Daughter a 
furnished feather Bed ~ and to her youngest Daughter the Fir
Chest in the Chambers with a Set of Bedcloaths ~ Itm.They 
the Tertrs.severally bequeathed to their three youngest Sons 
John, Thos. & Daniel the Sum of Three Pounds to each Son 
& two sheep to each of them. Itm.The Testr.bequeathed & left 
to his friend John Cottier his choice great Coat & a pair of Stockens 
& all the rest of his Apparell equally between his four Sons. 
Itm.the Testrx.left & bequeathed to her faithful Serv.& Relation 
Mary Cottier a Speckeled stuff Gown a black quilted petticoat 
& a Suit of head cloaths, and all the rest of her apparell Linen 
& wollen to her two Daughters ~ Itm.The Testators Severally 
bequeathed to their eldest Son Willm.or whoever of their Children 
should become Heir of their Estate, their part or share of the 
Coop, Team & husbandry Gears, and the Testr.Thos.appointed his 
wife Joney sole Execrx.of all the rest of his Goods ~ and the 
Testx.Joney appointed her husband Thos.Cannell sole Excr. of 
all the rest of her Goods; and in consideration of the Executorship 
bequeathed unto her by her husband, she consented & 
promised her sd.husband that whoever of their Children shall 
become Heir of their Estate of Ballafadjeen, shall possess and 
enjoy one half of the Curragh Land in Ballaugh of about three 
shillings & two pence halfpenny Lord's Rent which came by 
herself, so soon as the sd.Heir arrises to Twenty one years 
age, & the remainder of sd.Land upon her decease ~ 
To each of the witnesses of their will they severally bequeathed 
Six pence ~

At a Court of Correction holden at KK Michael Feb.23.1761 
Joney Cannell als Cottier one of the Testators having Survived 
her late decd.husband Thos.Cannell, she has consented in law 
that the Curragh Lands in Ballaugh shall fall & descend 
to the Heir of Ballafadjeen as more fully expressed in 
the foregoing will, she also undertakes the Tuition of the 
Dead's part of the Children & their Goods, & is sworn for 
payment of the Debts & Legacies of her decd.husband in 
form of Law, & has given pledges accordingly namely 
John Quiggin & John Caine Barnagh both of KK Michael 
sd.John Caine uncle to the orphans by the father's side 
is sworn their Gardian & Supervisor in form of Law
