      KK Onchan
At a Consistory Court holden at xxxx April 24, 1761
Margaret Christian als Callow departed this 
life on or about the 15th day of March last 
past Intestate; The Court upon intelligence 
thereof hath decreed her eight children 
namely Jane, Thomas, Margaret, John, Ellinor, 
Joney, William, & Matthias Christian joint 
Administrators of all her goods and chattels 
moveable and immoveable whatsoever. 
The six latter being under age & Thomas at 
lawful age yet too young to undertake the 
charge of the goods, Jane the eldest of 
the children is sworn Administrator in her 
own right, and she with Thomas Fargher & 
Thomas McYlworrey uncles on the mother’s 
side and William Callow the grandfather 
are sworn supervisors of Thomas and the 
other children underage and agree that 
the Dead’s part of said children and 
their goods be committed to the tuition 
of Thomas Christian their father who with 
Jane and the supervisors aforesaid are 
sworn to bring a perfect Inventory to 
the Registry, said Jane in her own right, 
with Thomas the father in the right of 
the other Administrators are sworn for 
payment of debts and hath given pledges 
in form of Law namely John Cowle and William 
Joughin both of Lezayre. Thomas the 
father is also sworn to render a just 
account of all the goods of the dead. 

At Ballaugh February 13, 1772
Thomas Christian eldest son of the 
deceased is now become pledge in the 
place of John Cowle deceased for the 
due Administration of the Effects of 
above xxx xxx in behalf of Thomas 
Christian the widower, the xxx by 
the consent of John & Margaret 
two of the Administrators. 

At Douglas June 8th, 1775
William Joughin one of the pledges in xxxx 
in behalf of Thomas Christian for the due 
Administration of the goods and chattel 
of Margaret Christian als Callow being dead; 
Mr. Robert Cæsar of Douglas has this 
day become pledge for the said Thomas 
Christian in form of Law in the place 
of said William Joughin. This to be annexed 
to the Decree of Margaret Christian 
als Callow in Lib:1st 1761, in KK Onchan. 

At KK Patrick June 29th 1775
Ellinor Wheeler als Christian daughter 
of the Intestate Margaret Christian als 
Callow by virtue of a Power of Attorney 
and in her own right has this day 
acknowledged to have received of her 
father Thomas Christian of Shlegaby 
the sum of fourteen pounds the sum of 
fourteen pounds one shilling and one 
penny three farthings being her proportion 
of the effects of her dead mother 
already due and hereby acquits exonerates 
and discharged him the said Thomas Christian 
and every other person of the same 
or any part thereof. Witness her name 
this day above written:

At KK Patrick June 29th 1775
Thomas Hampton husband of Margaret Christian 
daughter of the Intestate Margaret Christian 
als Callow has this day acknowledged to have 
received from his father in law Thomas 
Christian of Shlagaby the sum of fourteen 
pounds one shilling and one penny three 
farthings being her said Margaret’s proportion 
of the said Intestate effects already due 
and hereby acquits exonerates and discharges 
the said Thomas Christian and every other 
person of the same or any part thereof. 
Witness his name this day above written.

John Christian a son of Margaret Christian 
als Callow acknowledges to have received 
of his father Thomas Christian all that 
part or portion of goods or effects that 
became due to him by the death of his said 
mother and hereby acquits exonerates and 
discharges him the said Thomas Christian 
and ever other person of the same or any 
part thereof as witness his name this 
6th February 177x.

Lib. Causare, Anno Domini 1771
At a Consistory Court holden at Douglas June 8th 1775
It appearing by the Decree and Inventory of 
Margaret Christian als Callow late of KK Onchan 
deceased recorded in the Ep. Registry in Lib. 1st 1761, 
that there is due to Joney Christian one of 
the children of said Margaret Christian the 
sum of fourteen pounds one shilling and a 
penny three farthings as her proportion of 
her said Mother’s goods which was secured 
under pledges in the hands of Thomas Christian 
her Father, he the said Thomas Christian 
is hereby ordered to pay said sum unto said 
Joney Christian otherwise he is to be committed 
until he submits to Law and pays all fees. 

To the Sumner of KK Onchan who if disobeyed 
to apply for a constable.
