The last will and testament of Mr Robert Rodger who departed this life
the 20th day of April 1761 being sick in body but perfect in mind and memory
at the making hereof.
First He committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial.
Item:  He left to his son Robert all his cloathes; his books his gun; and
one guinea.(Equal to 21 shillings)
Item: He left to his daughter Cathrine two guineas and a book and her
name written within it.
Item: He left to his daughter Jane two guineas and a book known by her name
within it.
Item:  He left to his daughter Mary two guineas and a book known by her name
within it.
Item:  He left his great New Bible to the use of his family and children
for their reading.
Item:  He left six pence legacy to whom soever may claim any right unto his
will.
Lastly he constituted and appointed his loveing wife Mary Rodger als
Christian sole executrix of all the rest of his goods moveable and
immoveable whatsoever.
And a shilling to each the witnesses of his will.

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael 10th June 1761.  The testator having
no relations on his side in this Isle to take the tuition and goods
of the children under age the tuition of the said children with their
goods are committed to the mother, who is sworn executrix in court in form
of law and for the said end as also for the payment of debts and legacies
she hath given pledges namely the witnesses of the will.
