This is affirmed to be the last Will & Testament of Edward Calow of this
Parish, who departed this Life about the 20 th day of Septr of which he
declared as such in the presence of the Witnesses hereafter named about a
month before his Decease.
First, He commended his Soul to God, & his Body to Christian Burial
He then bequeathed the sum of Twenty Shillings to William Calow his
Brother's Son, & to Marjery his Sister, equally betwixt Them.
He left to Catherine Cashin daughter of John Cashin of Glenshione deceased,
a Sheep & a Lamb, legacy.
He left to William Kirmeen the Younger of the Corany, a Yearling or a lamb,
legacy.
He bequeathed to Robert, son of Thomas Keruish, a Sheep.
He bequeathed also to William, son of William Kinish, a Sheep.
He left also to William Quayle of Ballaskeg, a Sheep, which frequented his
fold; & a lamb to sd Quayle's eldest Son.
He bequeathed to William Kinish's Wife all what money of his lay in her
hands, excepting fifteen Shillings.
He bequeathed likewise to Edward Calow of Ballaskeg, whatever moneyh of his
lay in his hands, excepting four pounds.
He moreover left six pence Legacy to any person or persons, who should
pretend claim, or right to break, or annull this his last Will.
Lastly, He nominated & appointed his Grandson Edward Kinish sole & whole
Executor of all the rest of his Goods & chattles of what kind or nature
soever; & in case his said Grandchild shoud die, before he should arrive at
lawful years, then he willed that his sd Goods & Chattles shou'd fall &
descend to the Children of the above named William Calow; except his Sheep
on the barm of ballaskeg, which in that case he bequeathed to Edward Calow
aforesaid: He further declased that his sd Grandson was not to make a
disposition of his Land or Croft; either by Sale, mortgage or exchange,
untill he should have Chidren of his own; & he constituted sd Edwd Calow of
Ballaskeg Supervisor & Guardian of his sd Grandchild & his goods, allowing
him satisfaction on said account according to his Trouble: He also
intimated, that he [..?..] have forty shillings expended on his funeral,
besides what necessaries for that occasion were in his house: And he left
to the Witnesses of this ­ his Will, a shilling each Legacy.

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre 23d Novr 1761 Edward Kinnish the Execr
named in the within and above Will being under age Edward Calow of
Ballaskeg who is appointed Guardian & Supervisor of the sd Child is
thereupon Sworn Execr in trust as also Sworn Guardian & Supervisor of the
sd Child and is likewise to bring to the Registry a true & perfect
Inventory of the Goods & Effects belonging to the Testator, for which ends
as also for payment of Debts & Legacies he hath given pledges John Cannell
& Ewan Kneale one of the Witnesses of the Will both of Kk Maughold

Callow, have this day received from Edwd Callow Guardian & Supervisor of
Edwd Kennish, the sum of Twenty shills in full of the Legacy bequeathed
unto them by Edwd Callow the Testator, & hereby acquit & discharge the sd
Execr, his supervisor & all others of the same Witness their names & marks

This Day the following Persons acknowledged to have received at & from the
hands of Edward Callow of Ballaskeg, Executor in Trust of the will of
Edward Callow of Kk Maughold deceased, their several respective Legacies
devised by said Testator; namely William Quayle & his son Samuel own that
they are paid their Legacy of a sheep & a Lamb ­ Thos Keruish in behalf of
his son Robt owns he recd the sheep bequeathed him ­ William Kinish
acknowledges the receipt of the sheep devised him ­ Catherine Cashin owns
she is paid her Legacy of a sheep & Lamb ­ and also Wm Kermeen owns he has
recd the yearling devis'd to him

James Kennish Father and Atty of Edwd Kennish has this Day acknowledged to
have recd from Edwd Callow guardian of the said Edwd Kennish The Sum of
twenty four Pounds being the Amt of the Legacy bequeathed unto him the said
Edwd Kennish in the last Will and Testamt of Edwd Callow and Ann Callow of
the Parish of Kk Maughold decd and hereby acquits exonerates and discharges
the said Guardian his Exors Admin and Assigns and every other Person of the
same and every Part thereof. As Witness his Name and mark the Day above
written
