This is affirmed by the subscribing witnesses to be the last will and
testament of Philip Kewish who departed this life on the 27th of April
anno predicto being in perfect mind and memory at the making hereof. Having
repeated the Creed and Lords Prayer, he disposed of his worldly effects as
follows:
He bequeathed to his son Edmond Kewish his jacket that was new and his part
of an heifer of two years old he helping his stepmother sometimes
in the -------- ------ till the crop was saved.
To his daughter Isabel a sheep which was called her own with the lamb
thereof.
To the rest of his children four shillings each the child on his wife's
bearing included.
To be witnesses hereof one English shilling each.
And lastly nominated an appointed his wife Catherine Kewish Garrett
sole executrix of the rest of his goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever
and she to have the tuition and charge of the children and in case she
should not undertake the tuition and charge of the children, that then his
said son Edmond and his daughter Jane Kewish were to be executors and to
have the tuition and charge of the children.   And in case his said wife
should dye in a little time, that then the goods were to fall
to his children.

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael June 9th 1762
The executors is sworn in court in form of law and has the tuition of the
children and their goods committed unto her pursuant to the will and has
given pledges for payment of debts and legacies and forth coming of the
childrens goods according to law namely Wm Garret and Ewan Garret
both of Ballaugh.
Edmond and Jane Kewish brother and sister to the orphans by the father's
side are sworn supervisors in form of law.
