38      Rushen 1767
The last will and testament of Eleanor Crebbin als Kneen 
who departed this life about the 20th day of April 1767. 
First, she commended her soul to Almighty God and her 
body to Christian burial. 
Item, she bequeathed to her daughter in law vizt., Anne 
Crebbin als Lowey a gown. 
Item, she bequeathed to her daughter Anne Christian als 
Johnson als Crebbin a gown and petticoat, and a bed gown. 
Item, she bequeathed to Anne Steitch a gown and a coarse smock. 
Item, she bequeathed to her grandson John Crebbin a 
quarter of a little heifer of one year old and a flannel 
waist coat. 
Item, she bequeathed to her grandson Thomas Crebbin a sheep. 
Item, she bequeathed to her sister Jony Kermod als Kneen her shoes. 
Item, she bequeathed to her loving husband her right and 
property of the fishing boat and of the horse, also of 
the white woolen cloth to make him waist-coats or a blanket, 
which he pleased, likewise her right of another piece of 
cloth to make him a coat, together with her part of the 
bed during his natural life and after his decease the 
said bed to fall to his daughter Catharine. 
Item, she bequeathed her part or proportion of the 
dwelling house to her son John Crebbin; and her part or 
proportion of the land equall between her said son John 
and her daughter Catharine before mentioned. 
Also she bequeathed her part of the chair to her said son John. 
Item, she bequeathed to her said son John two dales 
and a beam that was in the house, and the cupboard 
to her daughter Catharine before mentioned. 
But if the said cupboard could not be got out of the 
house, then and in that case her said son John to have 
the Cupboard and her said daughter Catherine to have 
the dales and beam, and John to give her some help to 
make a new cupboard. 
Lastly, she nominated and appointed her said daughter 
vizt., Catherine Cooil als Crebbin sole executrix of 
all the rest of her goods moveable and immoveable. 
Witnesses: 
Thomas Cubbon, 
Elizabeth Macdanold. 

Upon further recollection the said witnesses declare 
that the testatrix appointed that her loving husband 
John Crebbin should have the sole benefit of the land 
before mentioned during his natural life, and after 
his death to fall to her children as bequeathed in 
the will.

At a Chapter Court holden in 
Castletown, 20th May 1767
Henry Cooil husband of Catharine Cooil the above named 
executrix is sworn executor in Court in form of Law and 
hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies, 
namely the Revd. Nicholas Christian and Mr. William 
Qualtrough Junior of Kiontraugh, both of Rushen
