ADDISON, Christian 1768-2 Lez A 69 0106224 Christian Addison 1768-2 Lezayre (Articles of Marriage Robert Corlet and Esther Addison serving as the Will of Christian Addison) Articles of Marriage Consented unto and agreed upon by and betwixt Rob't Corlet and Marg't his wife on the one part for and in behalf of their Son and Heir Rob't Corlet and Christian Addison in behalf of her Daughter Esther Addison on the other part (all ye parties being of the parish of KK Christ Lezaire) as followeth - Imprimis it is agreed upon that the young Couple Rob't Corlet and Esther Addison Shall Enter upon the Holy Estate of Matrimony at or before the first of Nov'r next God and the Church permitting the same. It is agreed upon that they the s'd Rob't Corlet and Marg't his wife do hereby Endow and Settle the one Half of all their Houses and Land of What Nature soever upon their s'd Son Rob't and the other Half after the death of the Longer Liver of them, the s'd Rob't Corlet and Marg't and that the whole of the s'd Land Shall pass and descend as Inheritance they do further give the one Half of all their Husbandry Gears the [Cant] Excepted, in present possession, a Heifer, and the youngest Horse Call'd the Back beg and Eight yearlings they have in the [Leagy Renny] 3ly Rob't Corlet afores'd doth bind himself to give unto his Father and Mother Rob't and Marg't afores'd the Sum of Twelve pounds Manks currency in Consideration of the foregoing Articles. 4ly Christian Addison doth bind and oblige herself to give unto her s'd Daughter Esther and her Intended Son in Law Rob't Corlet, a Cow and the Half of her Household furniture and Three pounds in money in present possession, and if the s'd Esther Survives her Mother afores'd that [she] Shall have the Whole of the Remainer of her goods of what nature soever 5ly And Lastly all parties Concerned do hereby bind and oblige Themselves their Heirs Ex'rs adm's and assigns for the True and faithfull performance of all and Singular the above Articles in and under the penalty of one Hundred pounds to be Levied according to Law Witness our Names and marks this 23d of Oct'r 1754 Rob't Corlet my ___ Witnesses Marg't Corlet my ____ Higb Gill my mk X Rob't Corlet Tho's Corlet Christian Addison - Esther Addison m_____ 26 June 1756 John Gill and Cap'n Thomas Corlet the Subscribing Witnesses to the Within and above Articles of Marriage made Oath that the same were duly Executed and perfected in Their _____ ___ by Rob't Corlet and Marg't Corlet, Rob't Corlet Christian Addison and Esther Addison ackno- wledged the Same to be Their Voluntary Act and deed before me Dan Mylrea At an Abbey Court Holden at Ballasalley 22 Oct. ____ The within and above Articles of Marriage having been acknowledged and proved before the Deemster and now openly published in Court and no objection ofer'd against it the same is Therefore allowed of and Confirmed According to Law Basil Cochrane Dan Mylrea Jo'n Taubman Ex'd Dan Mylrea Dan Mylrea ______________ John Quayle Dan Lace At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre 21st June 1768 The beforegoing Articles of Marriage being confirmed by the temporal Court the same is accepted of as & for the last Will and Testament of Christian Addison, whereupon Rob't Corlet husband of Esther Corlet als Addison her Daughter within mentioned is sworn Exec'r in Court in form of Law & hath given pledges for the paym't of Debts & Legacies namely Tho's Corlet of the Druin & Wm.
