This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of 
Catherine Clucas als Quine who departed this life the 
30th day of November 1769. 
Imprimis, she committed her soul to God and her body 
to Christian burial. 
She left and bequeathed to her children namely Robert, 
Elizabeth, Catherine, Elinor, and Margret ten pounds 
each, and it was her will that her husband should have 
the tuition of her said children and their goods till 
they arrived at lawful years. 
She also bequeathed to her stepson Thomas the heir one 
quarter of the crop and team when his father should 
give him the remaining part thereof. 
She left to her stepchildren viz., William, Henry, 
Isabel and Ann twenty shillings each. 
Lastly, she nominated her loving husband sole Executor 
of the rest of her effects moveable and immoveable 
whatsoever.

Catherine Nelson. 

At a Court of Correction holden near 
Douglas, 13th Febry 1770
The Executor is sworn in Court in form of Law and has 
given pledges for payment of debts and legacies namely 
Mr. Thomas Fargher of Shenvally and the Revd. 
Mr. Christian, Vicar of Marown. 
The tuition of the children is committed to the 
Executor pursuant to the will
