At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas June 6th 1774
Isabel Kewley als Quilleash departed this Life on or about the 10th Day of
June 1773 Intestate ­ The Court upon Intelligence thereof hath Decreed her
four Children namely James, John, Patrick & Jane Kewley wife of Philip
Kewley joint admrs of all her Goods & Chattels moveable & immoveable
whatsoever
James & Philip Kewley Husband of Jane aforesd having surrendered &
relinquished their Right of Administration to their Brother John as by the
annex'd articles of Agreemt fully appears He the sd John with Patrick
aforesd in their respective Right are: thereupon sworn well & truly to
administer the Goods of the Intestate, to pay all her just Debts as far as
the Goods will extend & the Law shall bind & to be true & just the one to
the other in the Division of the Goods    to which Ends & for the security
of the office they have given Pledges in Form of Law vizt Danl Callister &
Wm Crow both of Kk Lonan

Whereas Issabell Kewley otherwise Quilleish of Egneish in the parish of Kk
Lonnan Widow in her great old age departed this Life about Trinity in the
year 1773 Intestate or without making her last Will and Testament, whereby
all her goods and Effects that were unsettled or undiposed of Legally
devolve upon her four Children namely James, John, Patrick and Jane Kewley
now the Wife of Philip Kewley all of the sd parish of Kk Lonnan, and as the
sd John Kewley was the only Child that Stayed with the sd Mother and
managed her affairs and took Care of and provided for their sd Mother in
her old age and state of Infirmities Wherefore the rest of the Children
have thought it Just and reasonable (for the Consideration hereafter
mentioned) to Quit Claim Surrender Relinquish and Resign unto him their
Said Brother John Kewley all the Right Title Claim property and Interest
that they or any or Either of them in any respect might pretend or presume
to have to or in the Goods Chattles or Effects of their sd Deceased Mother,
and to Constitute him sole and Complete Administr of all their sd Deceased
Mother's Goods Chattles and Effefects of what Kind nature or Denomination
soever

And therefore Be it Known unto all men by the sd presents that we the sd
James Kewley Patrick Kewley and Philip Kewley, Husband of the sd Jane
Kewley by and with the full Consent of my sd wife Jane, for the Just
prevailing reasons aforesd as also for and in Consideration of the Just Sum
of Thirty Shillings to be paid unto us upon Demand, that is to say Ten
Shillings a piece (repecting me the sd Philip Kewley and Jane my wife as
one) as by and from the hands of our sd Brother John Kewley Have therefore
Remised Released, Relinquished Quitted Claim and Resigned, And by these sd
presents Do Remiss, Release, Relinquish and for ever absolutely Quitt-Claim
and Resign unto him our sd Bother John Kewley his Execrs amd assigns all
and singular the whole Right, Title, Property, Interest, Claim or Demand
that we or any or Either of us in any respect whatsoever Have, or may or
might pretend or presume to have to or in the Goods Chattles Creditts or
Effects that in any wise belonged or appertained unto the said Issabell
Kewley othersie Quilleish our Deceased Mother aforesd unpon her departing
this Life Intestate as aforementioned, hereby divesting ourselves Entirely
and absolutely Investing the sole and full Right and property of all and
singular the premisses in him our sd Brother John Kewley forever as aforesd
and do hereby Constitute him to be sole Administrator of all the Goods
Chattles Creditts and Effects of our sd Deceased Mother, he in that respect
obliging himself to submitt to all the injunctions that the Law requires of
all such Administrators, And for the true and faithful performance of the
beforegoing and within Quitt Claim and Resignation and Everything therein
Contained we the within named parties do hereby firmly Bind and oblige
ourselves the Either to the other and our Respective Heirs Execrs Admrs and
assigns In penalty of Fifty pounds Sterling to be levied and paid according
to the Law and practice within this Isle
